I'm in Germany. Apologies for creating confusion by re-posting the link.

Thanks to this thread I became aware of the TIL trial.

Re: Big New MSS-CRC Immmunotherapy Trial: anti-CD47

Thanks muchly for sharing!

Could you briefly expand on the limited safety window, please? Is it because all cells have/express CD47 and the trial drug will also go after the healthy cells?

Re: Newly Diagnosed wife - Stage 4 w Liver Mets

I can only agree with the prior commenters: if at all possible, try to get your wife to a cancer center. When I was diagnosed last year I moved from Australia back to Germany within 2 days (yep, everything left behind), and went to hospital straight away because I couldn't poop. I was in a state of ...

Re: TIL Immunotherapy at NCI

I asked about whether they know of any researchers in Germany or somewhere other in Europe who are doing TIL "stuff". While they couldn't help me with my question, the research nurse mentioned that they would screen me overseas for the following TIL trial: https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/sh...

Re: TIL Immunotherapy at NCI

Just a quick heads up for patients, who are not based in the US: I received an email saying that NCI does "off site registration" for overseas patients. However, they require their guinea pigs to remain in the US for 3-4 months after treatment. Can any of you locals recommend a budget frie...

Re: Folfiri+Avastin

Sorry. Totally lied about treatment. I had Xeliri (and not Folfiri) + Avastin. This is Xeloda plus Irinotecan.

But it's the third time that Irinotecan is in my mix:
1. Folfoxiri
2. Xeliri + Avastin
3. Folfiri + Cetixumab

Re: Folfiri+Avastin

From my experience, certain chemotherapy agents can be "re-used". I had Folfiri + Avastin earlier this year and it worked like a charm. Prior to that I went 6 months without any treatment and my CEA was up to somewhere 1400. After 4 cycles of Folfiri + Avastin (plus local hyperthermia trea...

Re: Proton Therapy for Liver Metastasis from Stage 4 Colon Cancer

Thanks for sharing your experience with Proton therapy, RoscoeDouglas. I am in Germany but it's not covered by any insurance - just yet. However, I read about a precedent where an insurer was ordered to pay the treatment costs. they think I could be a candidate for proton therapy I keep my fingers c...

Some people just suck. Unfortunately it's usually more complicated than this when they are family.

Sending you strength and patience.

Second-line maintenance therapy

Currently I am doing Folfiri + Cetuximab. I have completed 3 cycles and will probably do 2 or 3 more. I try to plan ahead (yeah, I know - that should be my oncologist's job - I am already looking for a new doc) for my next maintenance phase. My question really is: what kind of maintenance therapy ca...

Re: Interesting case study on Vitamin D (and other supplements) in pancreatic cancer

Haha. Thanks for your concern and of course you are right. But I have tried many a times to find an oncologist, who is willing to look beyond chemotherapy. I'm getting stone-walled left, right, center. Everyone giving me the sad look that there is no hope and even telling me that I need to accept wh...

Re: Interesting case study on Vitamin D (and other supplements) in pancreatic cancer

While I have been taking 5,000 a day for years, I haven't tried a high dose regime since having been diagnosed. Thanks for highlighting this option. I will give it a try. Legacy Health System is conducting a pilot study with high dose supplementation. Though I am not sure whether it's 50,000 IU week...

Re: Me again, liver resection questions...

Hi,

I think the type of liver surgery you are looking at is called ALPPS. I was hoping to get it done but not a candidate (yet). It is a high risk high gain surgery.

Keep us posted on your decision making process!
