Re: The good Lord gave me my hope back!

Dear Terry Hallelujah! Prayers have been answered. God is great! Will keep on praying for you! Luv and hugs, and believe that all will be well. I stopped smoking 13 years ago, with acupuncture. Today, I am like a non-smoker. Never crave, nothing. But I know, If I take one sigarette, I will be smokin...

Hi again! THanks for all your replies. We really appreciate this. Bev, Yes, they had his glucose tested, and also other bloodworks. He was in 1 of the 2 only real animal hospitals we have here in Pretoria, in South Africa. Cost us a fortune, as our doggie has now medical. But after we struggle to ke...

Re: Too much blood thinners?

Yes, I agree. Peter is on half of 5 mg Warfarin (Coumadin generic) per day and during Decemer when he had the pain in his shoulder, he got Ibuprofen from the pharmacist, and after about 2 days he asked me about his black tarry stools. And I immediately realised that is problems. That is blood. So, w...

Update on Pete - from Peteswife

Hi, You all remember the old posts that the doctor (pain management onco) game Pete 3 months on 5 January. She send us home with no hope for chemo (after the Erbitux trial failed - KRAS Wild type), no radiation - only 60 mg of Morphine a day for pain and she organized everything for Hospice. Yesterd...

Thanks to all of you for the good wishes! We are taking everything day by day and even the last 2 days he walk almost 2 km's with me with the dog. He said he can feel it is doing him so good to move around, other wise your metabolism slows down. He lost 10kg's already, but my daughter is playing phy...

Re: 2 much morphine 2 quick! Not neccessary!

Thanks hannah, Pete was on this Erbitux trial, and when he had to go for his follow up appt, his normal onco was on leave on 5 January. THen only this dr could take him off the trial that day when the results of the MRI brain and the CT was not so good. Then it was this dr who put him on this big am...

Re: 2 much morphine 2 quick! Not neccessary!

Thanks Jmarie, unfortunately he is allergic to the plasters. Only the Convatec colostomy plasters works for him also. When he had his liver op last year in March, he had such bad skin blisters on his face from the plaster they put the ventilator on, and also on his skin on his stomach where they had...

Re: is anyone on or familiar with cetuximab (erbitux)?

Dear Ronniesister My hubby was on a trial with Erbitux only. 3rd line therapy and it was between Erbitux or Vectibix. He got the Erbitux. He was on it for 3 months. After 2 infusions they had to stop for 3 weeks because of grade 3 acne he had. He didn't want to go out of the house. He avoided mirror...

2 much morphine 2 quick! Not neccessary!

Hi, My hubby Pete was going through the same (exactly) symptoms that you mentioned. He was put on 30 mg Morphine 2 x per day by one oncologist (pain management specialist), and then after 36 days, he saw his regular oncologist, and asked him if he can reduce his dosage. He doesn't feel he is in cont...
