Re: The Good and the Bad

So glad you had that time together! It is so important. I spent my summer with my parents and even though it was very hard having to find out my dad had cancer etc etc, it was one of the best summers I have had in a long time! Love them to pieces!! Re: You look healthy...you are going to be fine!

Have to admit, until you start this journey you have no clue and you try your best to say things that are positive. It sure looks different from this side of the fence, even as a caregiver. I know I will be choosing my words more wisely when talking to someone.

Re: You're really gonna love me now!

I'm not a weekly church goer but have gone in the past. I am also not a strong person at all. My husband has this line he says all the time that if something happens he has to give me valium before he tells me. This summer I was there when my dad had his colonoscopy and was told he had cancer, I was...

Re: What to do in these situations?

Well it turns out my dad refused to go to the hospital. He said he was fine. My daughter had him show her that he could walk. She retook his blood pressure, all was fine. He then informed my mom that he had taken all of his pills at lunch because he forgot in the AM. (Not chemo related) He has some ...

Re: Out Of Network, Pocket

Wow, so sorry you have to deal with all the issues of costs for everything. Everyone grumps that our health care system here is Canada is so bad, but I sure don't have any complaints so far in our battle and we have had no worries about costs. The only thing I have noticed is that we maybe don't hav...

Re: What to do in these situations?

Did you find anything out about this? My dad has fallen randomly twice today. THey are actually enroute with him to the hospital now just to be safe, but I remembered this thread and thought I would see if it was similar. He just had his 3 round of folfiri on Wed. Has not had any neuropathy that we ...

Re: Chemo a no-brainer??

My dad just had his 3rd round of chemo. Only side effects so far have been diarrhea and he is getting tired. More tired with this last shot, although he has not been a good patient as far as taking it easy, so maybe his body will dictate that for him now. He still eats normal and has not lost weight...
