Dumb Jokes that Made me Laugh

I came across a couple of dumb jokes while surfing the old net and they made me laugh, so I thought I'd share. There were three women walking along a sidewalk. There was 1 blonde, 1 brunette, and 1 redhead. An apple dropped out of nowhere and hit the redhead on the head. She said, "OWW!" A...

Re: Deer Be Damned!

Using your clothes for scent is a great idea. I'm sure your neighbors are much happier than if you used mountain lion piss or eau de skunk!

Osmoprep all the way for me. I couldn't tolerate the fleet because the taste of it literally made me throw up. It's a lot of horse pills to take, but ultimately osmoprep was the best solution for me. Plus it forces you to drink a lot of water so you don't become entirely dehydrated. Definitely have ...

Re: Radiologist and oncologist visits

I was lucky and radiation wasn't too bad for me. I ran out of the protective cream in the last week and thought, well, I've been fine so far. I dont' know that a week without the cream is going to make too much of a difference. Boy was I wrong!!! Use the cream religiously! I got the equivalent of a ...

They're the worst!!! My tech laughed at me drinking the smoothie because I pinched my nose with one hand and chugged it down as fast as I could. It's still downright horrible, but you don't taste it as much that way. Good luck to the both of you on the scans. We'll be waiting here with you for good ...

Re: Most Embarassing Moments?

Helen, that is impressive. I'm with Ivona - it took me about a week. I told my husband about my post and he said that he would have guessed a different moment which I guess I should share since it had me laughing so hard last night I cried. Around day 4 or 5 of my 1st resection, I was allowed to eat...

Re: Doctors giving patients cancer diagnosis

My GI didn't tell me I had cancer after my colonoscopy. He made my husband tell me! Then not knowing the kind of person I am, he decided that it would be a good idea to tell me the cycle of emotions that I would go through. My husband just turned to him and said "do you mind NOT going through t...

Most Embarassing Moments?

OK, I'll start off... The quickest way to getting over any pride/shyness is a hospital stay following a surgery. When you are relying on bedpans and the nurses to clean you up, you soon stop caring if your nurse is male or female. I spent the 1st Thanksgiving away from my family and my 1st wedding a...

Re: loss of appetite question

I've always been light (normal for me was 105), but I was down to 80 lbs when I was dx'd. I had a real uphill battle to fight and I HATED protein shakes because they taste so awful. My husband tried everything with them, including ice-cream in the shakes. It was still horrible. So when a friend of m...

Re: First chemo tx tomorrow and FREAKING!!

It might help for you to journal how you feel each day. I would get migraines with one of my treatments, so I started watching when I would feel the symptoms and then would preempt them. Disconnect from the Chemo pump Friday, migraine Saturday afternoon. So Saturday morning I get up to take a hydroc...

Re: Battle #1 done!

I've had the epi with each of my surgeries and had the same thing happened to me. It has to do with where the needle is placed. The anesthesiologist can adjust it, but removing the bandage was no fun. It did make it easier for me to walk though, and ultimately the sooner you walk and the more you mo...
