Candy, my onc. has suggested Stivarga now so I'm in the midst of waiting for approval for this drug.... so your posts are of particular interest for me. Curious to know if you suffered from hand foot syndrome on any other chemo's or is this something new that you haven't suffered from before?? What ...

Re: Calling ALL Colorectal CANUCKS !

Interesting. What clinical trial are you looking at and where?? I'm in Ontario too. I get disconnect at home ... the last meeting I had with homecare the lady mentioned that she really liked my oncologist that he's sent patients across the border for treatment .... she said he does that if he sees t...

Re: Interesting new immunotherapy...

I was kinda surprised at the paperwork that needed to be signed before they would test for genetic mutations .... but I guess it's all an unknown with legalities, the two doctors I met said they are still trying to Learn the process, because genetics is such a new field of research. I still have tha...

Re: Interesting new immunotherapy...

Ugggh....I cannot open that link for some reason. I'm curious have you had DNA, genetic testing done at Princess Marg.??? My onc. sent me down there for a clinical trial for genetic mutations, just curious if you are already in the Princ. Marg. system if they do it for you automatically. Also, did y...

Re: mCRC STAGE IV OR RECURRENT PATIENTS thread - ONGOING

I managed to have no progression for 10 months off chemo. My onc. was amazed, he said that was a loooong time off chemo. for my disease. He exaggerated that it was long. It didn't feel long to me, and I was completely devastated at the bad scan, I knew it was coming because my CEA had gone up, it ha...

Re: Stupid things ppl tell you...

I think the worst thing someone said to me was a nurse when I was going to get my port put in .... don't know why she didn't really look at the paperwork, but she exclaimed to me "congratulations on getting your port removed". Huh, I'm here to have it put in, and I was so so very stressed ...

Re: mCRC STAGE IV OR RECURRENT PATIENTS thread - ONGOING

The other question that comes up .... because I have had some invitations this week, but they fall on chemo. days, so I've said no can't make it those days I'm hooked up ...... I get asked "Well, how long is this going to go on, how long will you be getting this treatment?" Huh?? I don't k...
