Re: Thread for January scans

Unfortunately my scan shows the cancer is back, in my pelvis and wrapped around my left ureter and squashing my kidney. Devastating doesn't even come close to how we feel, I have 2 girls 10 and 6. I hope you all have better news. There are no words I know. I am so sorry. Many deep breaths, tears, h...

Re: Thread for January scans

Positive thoughts for all having scans. I am at the other end of the spectrum and will have my first scans this month. The unknown is frightening and the wait for results unbearable. I am praying for all us.

Right Hemicolectomy Pending (we think)

What a day this has been. Those of you who told me this would be a roller coaster were certainly correct. So after being told about my "very large" ascending colon mass and after being told that I was going to lose my cecum, ascending colon and part of my transverse colon.....after all tha...

Re: Breaking the Ice

I love it Maggie! You are so funny. Believe it or not I used to teach the I Can Cope series for the local cancer association. I found this and have used it for over 25 years but I like your version better. Thanks for making me think...thanks for making me smile :D

Re: Large Polyp

So glad they were able to remove it all. Certainly you will need to be vigilant with your surveillance but you finally have the answer to your question. All in all it may turn out to be a watch and wait situation which is better than many of the other results.
Keep us posted. :)

Re: Breaking the Ice

Thanks to all for the sage and well written advice. I am going to tell my children the facts and let them adjust. They are so close to each other and I know they will support me and their siblings. I have twin sons who are 29 and married and a daughter who is 32 and preparing to sit for the bar (law...

Breaking the Ice

I am new to the Forum and I have been amazed at the strength and determination of all who share this site. At the risk of sounding morbid I always knew that I would get cancer. Some kind. Any kind. And I have. After years of battling polyps and digestive issues I now have a very large adenomatous ma...
