Good to see you both too. I'll be in the next five Wednesdays, possibly more. PM me and maybe we can exchange contact info?

53rd street gang

Hey all, I'll be in NYC pretty frequently this week and the coming weekend... lemme know if you might want to meet for coffee or check out the black and white Picasso exhibit at the Guggenheim :-) Sorry for the short post but this is my first time trying to access the forum from my new smart phone. ...

Re: three months and counting

Thanks for your posts. I joined a bereavement group via meetup.com and I have to say that it was definitely beneficial by the time it was over despite there being 5-6 times when I felt like I had to jump up and bolt out of the room even though I had yet to say/share anything. I think of this board a...

three months and counting

Hey all, It's been strange. I can't say there's been good days and bad days since, at least for me, it seems to be lots of "meh"/OK/mediocre days for weeks at a time and then a punch in the face for a day. I finally crashed last week after two to three unglorious weeks of unofficial alcoho...

Really liked reading through this thread. Bev G was amazing beyond words and I hope everyone here gets the chance to meet her someday like I did earlier this month!

off-topic: gas shortages in NY

Hi all, lines this morning extended 1/4 to 1/2 mile for people waiting at gas stations since Hurricane Sandy messed things up (to say the least) last week. If you're in the same situation, use this website that a friend referred me to yesterday. He said it's not worth waiting if the station you're l...

Re: The Latest from Sloan UPDATE

Sounds like you're in some luck, Eric. Will have to catch you next time since tomorrow's not looking likely with how Queens/Brooklyn is all screwed up even though the bridges are open. Have a safe and clean drive, stay and scan!

Re: The Big Storm

Wow, Eric, no wonder why they call her Dr. Personality around here. Yikes, haha. 85-90% of Long Island is without power. The area I rent at near school had a mandatory evacuation Sunday night so I'm at a friend's house south and east where it looks like nothing happened except for one 4-foot branch ...

Re: The Big Storm

Yeah I was thinking about you and Angie and others who have appointments in NY. Apparently I live in the only area on the north shore of LI that has a massive storm surge so they forced a mandatory evacuation by 7pm. Was hoping to be stranded in Manhattan instead of on LI but it didn't work out that...

Re: 53rd St Gang

Eric would have the definitive answer but I plugged in "pod near 160 E 53rd St, Manhattan" into maps.google.com and it looks like there's a location at 230 East 51st Street...
