Re: OT-ish: How many ER visits...

Started chemo 10 days ago. Read this thread yesterday and thought "yay something to look forward to". Today had a fever barely over 100.4 so now I'm sitting in the ER.

Re: Father recently diagnosed - Surgeons seem too eager?

Fwiw, don't think of 10 inches as a lot, that's just what they need to take to get the polyp. The actual section removed will all depend on the blood supply, which dictates where they can cut.

Re: Exercise routine

Before dx, I enjoyed Mt Biking, tennis, TRX, body pump, skiing, snowboarding, but never found much time for any of them with 4 kids. After dx, I have "taken up walking" as others have. Thinking about my other options, I wonder if my port makes tennis or body pump (or golf) a bad idea? Anyo...

Wow, that's awesome!

On the flip side mine was 1.3 with a large tumor. Of course I'm hoping that's a good thing but who really knows...

Re: Stage IIIB confirmed today Was:Surgery update - Preliminary stage and surgery within a week

Sorry you're going through this. It sounds quite similar to mine. During surgery they can see a large tumor from the outside of the colon, but anything smaller can only be seen from the inside. I will need another colonoscopy for this same reason. They can scope the inside during or immediately afte...

Eczema

I got Eczema for the first time in my life about 6 months before colon cancer symptoms started. I've been unable to make it go away completely since then. Timing seems soooo coincidental, but I haven't found much to suggest a link on the web. Anyone else have this?

Re: New to the club

Thank you all for the warm welcome. Recovery has been fast, I feel great. Scheduled for port and first round of folfox next week, locally. Ready as I can be, I think, and glad to be moving fast and have a set course for now.

New to the club

... Both here and to cancer in general. World turned upside down just three weeks ago, now already recovering from surgery and going to oncology appts next week. Feeling ok/positive overall, ready to face the next 6 months. Hard decision next week will be whether to get chemo locally or at MSK which...
