Re: Update - Stage 3b, nearly done with adjuvant chemo

Glad you have some positive news to report. So far, so good. Have your husband keep up the exercise, in whatever form. It's important. And stay hydrated. Sounds like he's back with the right attitude. Best of luck moving forward.

Re: (Somewhat Delayed) Five Year Anniversary

I'm glad you have done so well. I know you were worried, as we all were, at the time of diagnosis, but you've done it ! Stay positive, exercise and help inform others. Congratulations ! Andre P. S. I had a colonoscopy after one year, three years after that...and will have another in five years after...

Re: Covid and the non-believers

Everyone should wear a mask everywhere whenever they are in a public setting and cannot adhere to social distancing. Period. I do not wear a mask when I go on my three-mile daily walk, but I do not get withing 30 feet of another person.

Re: Update (9 months post surgery) (6 months post chemo)

Congratulations on your son and your positive results. I kept my port in for a year ---- just worked for me psychologically. I understand your not wanting to visit so often to the forum as you had and have other things on your mind. I don't visit quite as often as I once did, but I like to see if I ...

Re: Stage III's

I know there are people who do not take 12 rounds for a variety of reasons, but when did the protocol change? I finished my FOLFOX in August, 2014. My Oncologist and I both wanted to go 12, but the doctor did ask me if I wanted to cut back on the oxi. I told him No since I was handling it fairly wel...

Re: cutting chemo before 6 infusions

I must first predicate my answer by saying that I am Type Ii diabetic and have been taking oral meds for it for 10 years. I exercised very day during my treatments by walking 2-3 miles as I did before chemo. I still do to this day. After chemo, I had neuropathy in my fingers and my feet. The neuropa...

Re: Stage 3b Colon Cancer diagnosis - What typically happens after?

My signature gives a pretty good description of my journey with Stage IIIb colon cancer of the cecum. There will be side effects, and there are many people on this forum that can help you in discussing those and other areas. You will have many questions. Just don't use google statistics to try to fo...

Re: cutting chemo before 6 infusions

Each person is different..each case is different....and each chemo treatment and number are different. I can only say that I did all 12 cycles and would do it all again if I had to. I discussed each side effect..duration and associated disability. ie. neuropathy. The oncologist gave me the option of...

I agree with Stu. Since he has a PET scan fairly soon, I would go along with keeping positive vibes until the results of that scan are in.... Good luck to both of you.

Re: I am very worried. Help!

First off...don't worry. Stay positive and be proactive. Constipation, along with a hemorrhoid that occasionally acts up, causes my stool to be bloody. The brighter red it is, the more likely it is to be just that. However. you might want to visit a doctor to discuss it and get an opinion which may ...
