Strange pain

Hi guys, Been a while since I posted/was online. Things are generally pretty awesome in terms of BM's, now 6mths post reversal. Still deal with clustering but only really bad once a month or so. No dramas at work which is a huge relief. Recently I have been experiencing localized pain in my lower gr...

Re: Ileostomy Reversal Log - One Week at a time

G'day again. Saw oncologist today and not even a healthy dose of man-flu could throw a spammer in the works. CEA dropped down to 2 and el doctorè was happy as Larry. Suggested I have my next scan in 6mths based on everything going so well so far but managed to snavel a referral for a CT before I see...

Re: Ileostomy Reversal Log - One Week at a time

Thank you Geoff!!! Your post makes me hopeful. I am meeting with surgeon the end of this month and will get my reversal on the books most likely towards the end of April. I have been worried because of all the issues I read about. My hope is I will be more like you. I have only had about 10 inches ...

Re: Ileostomy Reversal Log - One Week at a time

Good luck Swirdfish!!! Fingers crossed things go smoothly for you too. In regards the Imodium, I took a fair few of them the first couple days home because things happened pretty suddenly and I think it's your body being in shock to be honest. As much as I hate being a dampener on anyone's parade, g...

Re: Reversal or keep ileostomy?

I am a tad over 7 weeks out from my reversal and it is the best thing I did. I had an ULAR with not much of my original rectum kept and I too had read horror stories of people who had had bad experiences with their reversals. The first two days were miserable but each day/week got better and better....

Re: Ileostomy Reversal Log - One Week at a time

Well here I am 7 weeks out from being put back together and butt for a stronger than usual dose of 'man-flu' with a side of conjunctivitis, life is pretty good. Wound wise, I'm back to lifting my 3yo daughter up and generally being able to be a pest of a husband/dad again. I went for my first swim t...

Re: Mom gained her angel wings

So very sorry to hear Natalie. I lost my beautiful little mum only a week after I finished chemo and I still miss her more than ever.

Take solace in the memories you have, and in particular that you got closer to her in her final moments. She was lucky to have a daughter like you.

Geoff
