Re: The Merry Month of May

Thanks guys! We need a bit of good news to offset all the bad we hear so much more often on this journey. Three years (and three months) ago when I started this journey, my first goal was to see my son graduate from kindergarten. I refused to hear any opinions on possible outcomes because I was only...

The Merry Month of May

Three years ago, my family sat for 8+ hours in a surgery room, I spent 10 days in the hospital, 11 days later I received my portacath & my first of a dozen doses of FOLFOX, the next day with the pump over my shoulder I attended my oldest kindergarten graduation. This May has gone a little bit sm...

Re: *Ladies only* question

about a year after my last FOLFOX treatment, I experienced a second cycle, both times way lighter than my pre-treatment monthlies. OB/GYN order a ultrasound that showed thickening of the uterus and order a D&C. No abnormal cells found, the doctors explanation, was that because I was so young by ...

I had small tote packed for infusion day it included gloves, extra socks (which worked as gloves one time when i couldn...

Re: New diagnosis...scared doesn't begin to cover it....

My daily radiation treatment took about 15 minutes each, Monday-Friday. Chemo is at the same time. Typically your doctor will choose between the pill form, Xeloda or the injected form of 5Fu, that is connected by a pump that is worn in a fanny pack. I choose the pills because with a toddler in the h...
