Re: Side effects of Capecitabine, or Xeloda

Is he on anything in addition to xeloda? Is he still taking avastin? I was recently switched to xeloda (from 5FU) due to port migration resulting in removal and found xeloda to have less effects than 5FU. I understand that everybody is different, though.

Re: Question...Cancer and privacy vs openness

Unfortunately I was forced by my boss to go public with mine, which creates an awkward situation. It is much better to be treated as a normal coworker than as Cancer. See viewtopic.php?f=1&t=51603&start=30&hilit=workplace

Re: Roche MSS-CRC Immunotherapy Trial Data Pending

Interesting. I just signed consent for one of these trials, Tecentriq (Atezo) and an anti-CEA (has a Roche number). Will be interesting to see what the preliminary results are.

Re: Major Decision Affecting Family Weighing Heavily On My Mind

Mostlysunny: I too have the threat of a delusional mother demanding to come and stay here if I undergo surgery (she lives in another state). Nevermind that the hospital I would have to have it done requires a 45 minute commute each way from my house and she is in her eighties and unable to drive in ...

Re: Major Decision Affecting Family Weighing Heavily On My Mind

Dear Mostlysunny77: I can relate to much of what you write, relations with my family of origin are strained at best as well. I, too, have to be very careful about what information is shared because my mother, too, is focused on her own emotional distress. Without a support network it is very difficu...

Re: MSS-CRC: PD1/NKTR-214 Combo Trial Announcement

since the Cobi/Atezo "Proof of concept" we are now going to be overrun with new MSS-CRC combo trials to choose from over the next 12 months Tom: Strangely, UNC was in the Phase 1b testing for Cobi/Atezo but is not a site for the Phase III testing. Any thoughts why this might be? I wonder ...

Re: Minimal growth on last scan--need advice UPDATE

Thank you everybody for your thoughts. I consulted with the radiation oncologist on Tuesday. He did say that the most aggressive approach would be conventional 5 1/2 weeks daily radiation+chemo followed by radical surgery, but I told him I hesitate to go that route that given the location of the sma...

Re: Port issue

Thanks KElizabeth. I had a port study yesterday and they determined that the catheter turned and was entering another vein (I can't remember which one). Also, the fibrin sheath is big. So it is coming out next week. The next line of chemo for me is lonsurf, stivarga or trials, so I won't be using th...

It appears we are in very similar circumstances. One of my remaining lesions is small but in a difficult location. I will PM you after my consult with radiation oncologist.
