Re: Stage 3A Rectal Cancer Diagnosis

Hi Sinewaves. Sorry you have to be going through this, but glad you found this group. Like you, I was diagnosed stage 3. Mine was colon vs. rectal, so I had surgery first with adjuvent chemo for 6 months vs. radiation, but I did do Xeloda oral. I did a *lot* of research on Xeloda pill form vs. IV (5...

Another light lost . . . so very sad to hear this news. She was such a positive, uplifting and caring person.
We'll miss you, Robino.

Overdue Hello

Just wanted to stop in and say hello to everyone, and to let you know I'm still here, still thinking of and praying for everyone. I think of you all very often. Those of you who know me also know I am an author. I have a new book being published soon, and decided to dedicate it to the people in my l...

Re: Goodbye

As the one with cancer, I often felt that being the caregiver / loved one forced to watch would be *so* much harder. I'm so very sorry to read both posts, but so moved by the love and devotion that you gave to your partners.
Keeping you both in my prayers.

Hopefully you'll find some trials with promise, Orlar. I've always been amazed at all the hope and encouragement this site can provide when doctors are all out. Will keep you in thoughts and prayers.

Re: 5 weeks post-op Liver Resection surgery

I can't offer you any info on this type of surgery, but I did want to congratulate you on what I hope turns out to be all clear margins and a good recuperation. Sounds like you had a fun day out. Cheesecake factory is awesome. ;-)

Best,

Re: Not sure how to feel right now

Thank you everyone for your kind words. Sigh! It doesn’t help that my anxiety has gotten worst. I wish I didn’t have this bad anxiety disorder. I have more what if’s now and sends me to panic mode. Today I had to leave the gym early because I thought something was wrong , I was a little dizzy got s...

Re: Tattoo during scope?

I see everyone has already provided you with great info. All I wanted to add was that my surgeon also did a sigmoidoscopy after my initial colonoscopy both to mark and recheck location. She said it was standard for surgeons to do this to ensure that the location noted during the colonoscopy was comp...

Re: Scanxiety: Anyone else having testing now?

Thinking of you today! I just got home from doctor's, and I'm all clear. Now officially 2 years NED. Although my blood-pressure in the doctor's office before he came in was 185 / 110. Yeeks. Thanks Robino and everyone for your thoughts and prayers. They are always appreciated. I know I haven't been...

Re: Scanxiety: Anyone else having testing now?

Cancer won't break me and keep me from enjoying life. Dammit! Sorry to hear you have to deal with more. Hopefully things will settle down for you soon. I haven't been to Yellowstone, but I've been to the Theodore Roosevelt National Park, and it was A-MA-ZING! You're going to love Yellowst...

Re: Scanxiety: Anyone else having testing now?

Long overdue hello, Diana. :) Glad to hear that your numbers went back to normal. I'm due for my CT tomorrow, results next Tuesday, so I'm in full scanxiety mode. I try to deny it, but I know it's true. After all, here I be. <:- ) I'll keep praying for you, you keep praying for me. Smiles, hugs and ...

Re: Took my last dose of Xeloda last night

Just finished chemo last night. Took those pills and thought to myself, ok, this is done. Now starts the watching and waiting. On the outside, I am happy for this milestone. On the inside, I wonder if I am deluding myself. I really just want to enjoy this... does one ever feel free after cancer? I ...

Re: Tribute to my dear friend Anne - aka BeansMama

Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast, hull and spar as she was when she left my side. And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port. Her diminished size is in me -- not in her. And, just at the moment when someone says, "There, she is...
