Re: Colon Mass Pain subsided

I didn’t get to see the CT report from my dx ER visit but I had a mass right at the caecum. I had been having on and off pain for 2 months before they did the CT. I would wake up with terrible cramping occasionally and be in so much pain but then it would go away and I would be fine for a few days....

Re: Lymph nodes and chemo

I had one enlarged node after surgery (don’t know its name but in the retroperitoneal area). They thought maybe inflammation but after staying enlarged throughout chemo we did a PET and it was confirmed cancerous. I would inquire about a PET to verify though I guess that wouldn’t be done til after ...

Re: FOLFOX failed

So my doctors are deciding the best course of action while they restage my cancer. They think its stage IV: a PET scan showed activity in my lungs & in my NECK... this Wednesday I have a neck biopsy... two words every 33 yo wants to hear weeks before Christmas. They're advocating for radiosurge...

Re: General question about CT scan

My colon tumour was also detected by CT during an ER visit. I never did see the report but the dr told me a “mass” was detected in my colon. I already had a scope scheduled. I was in the ER for severe stomach cramping and pain. Upon resection 3 weeks later it was approximately 5 cm large. Not sure i...

Re: Internal Iliac Node involvement??

I had distant node involvement though at the time of surgery they weren’t sure if it was cancer or just reaction. I would definitely check to see if there is a chance at removing during surgery. Mine did not respond to chemo and they were too large by the time they were responded to for radiation. (...

Re: IMMUNOTHERAPY

So in response to your question about the tumour testing and the worry about possible other cancers. From my reading the onco company is testing your tumour chunk for mutations. So the mutations they find are in your cancer cells not necessarily your whole body. For example, my tumour tested MSI-h w...

Re: 2 swollen nodes in abdomen...

Jep, I am sorry to hear about this discovery. I am hoping it's not abdominal lymph nodes. However, if they are, I want to give you some info because I have experience with it. Mine have only been detected by PET scans - never big enough by CT criteria to be seen. So, I've had PETs every 2-3 months ...

Re: MSI-H with liver met, in search of help

I am MSI-h, (MLH1 and PMS2) not Lynch. I did full 12 rounds of folfox and had a recurrence within 5 months. Multiple Mets to lymph nodes all over abdomen, chest and neck. We watched a lymph node in my neck grow 3 cm while doing 2 rounds of folfiri. Then I started Keytruda and within 3 months all my ...

Re: Homemade salad dressing recipes

Omg I love tacos haha, mmm... Thanks stewsbetty, I’ll add this one to the list! Powdered ranch is harder for me to find for some reason, i know I’ve seen it at Costco but who needs that much ranch powder!? I guess maybe in the grocery store it’s kept with the dry packets of gravies and hollandaise s...

Re: Disconnect

My mom (and I) were trained in the disconnect. I never actually did it all myself but walked my mom through the steps. I was concerned about not seeing the port area well and looking in a mirror and doing things is more challenging for me. However, I wish I had taken responsibility for it because it...
