Re: Scanxiety creeping in

Yep, just found out I am scheduled for next week, a month earlier than I had planned. Still monitoring the lung nodules but also getting the full body CT. Yikes! Liking to think NED is still in the building. I am finally feeling really good. Anyway, good luck to all heading to the imaging tables.

Re: Disheartened, having problems

Sorry you are going through this. I second the idea of the convex wafer, they usually have less adhesive so it's not like pulling tape off the skin and easier to get off. The convex wafer with the paste may help. When cleaning around the stoma, use just water in shower or compresses of water when yo...

Re: Colon post reversal "broken" still 2.5 years out

Hi. My situation is similar to your husband's but not as severe. I am 3 years out from reversal and my bowels don't "move" either. Right after reversal, I went multiple times per day with very little output, spent hours on toilet without success. I started doing the daily enema and for the...

Re: Upcoming Ultralow Anterior Resection

Hi Maryann, I had a very low 5cm tumor with open surgery and straight connect like you will have. I also had a complete hysterectomy at the same time so that is different from your situation. With the open surgery, I will admit that I had a lot of pain the first few days. Like everyone says, getting...

This is great news and encouraging! I may be having a lobectomy soon (hopefully VATS) so good reports are welcome. Keep us posted on progress. Honestly folks, how bad is the chest tube?.......

Re: Totally O/T -- My Music Listening Habits

My husband does this to a certain degree. He doesn't switch major genres as you describe but artists he will focus on for long periods of time. Before music downloading, he communicated with people from all over, trading CDs. They would share live tracks as well as other obscure recordings. We have ...

Re: Really??!!??

Bev, I saw your post on Facebook too. This is just wrong. I'm surprised whatever it is has grown so quickly and hope that means it is just inflammation. My oncologist also stated what Christy said, that if it is an early detected primary, that is better than having mets. I was supposed to have my PE...

Re: Very Low RC experiences

My tumor was at the dentate line so very low. I had shrinkage from chemoradiation as viewed on an MRI. My surgeon is very skilled and did do a straight reconnect. My entire rectum and sigmoid colon were removed. My main issue following the ileostomy takedown was multiple BMs with very little output ...

Re: Adhesions odyssey

Sorry you are going through this. I also had an open surgery to lyse adhesions on a blockage that wouldn't clear. But I have done well for over two years post surgery. I occasionally have problems but so far they clear fairly quickly. You may already do these things but here are some of the things t...

Re: Need to vent

Barry, you don't have to wait for your doctor to see your scan results. Some people like to wait but I prefer to pick mine up from Medical Records before appointments so I can have questions ready. Good luck and I hope your results are fine.

Re: What they say when you tell 'm

I like the humor injected here, particularly the "BINGO". You can shout it out, people can think you're crazy but you can laugh inside. I do know people mostly mean well, but I remember listening to the stories that I could tell were leading, you know where, to somebody else dying. Or the ...
