Re: AST and ALT elevated?

Yes. My husband's AST and ALT levels have been slightly elevated couple of times during his chemo regimen and our oncologist told us its normal with chemo and not to worry about.

Re: Rectal cancer

Hello, Welcome and sorry for the reason you are here. I was in your shoes in April of 2018. It was a total devastation, shock to us and i never thought i would be able to pull through it. But overtime, as we were going through every stage of the process things became more clear, and we became more o...

Re: CT/Soft Tissue Density

Hello. Yes similar wording was on my husband's post surgery CT scan back in October and his recent follow up MRI showed the same thing and noted as stable, suggesting postsurgical changes and not recurrence. My husband received radiation prior to his surgery and we were told that that along with sur...

Re: Lymph nodes and chemo

I had one enlarged node after surgery (don’t know its name but in the retroperitoneal area). They thought maybe inflammation but after staying enlarged throughout chemo we did a PET and it was confirmed cancerous. I would inquire about a PET to verify though I guess that wouldn’t be done til after ...

Re: Lymph nodes and chemo

Oh duh, disregard my question—your hubby already had his radiation and surgery! (For a brief second I thought he was doing neoadjuvant chemo). So there is nothing to shrink! :) Hi Punky! Yes my husband had chemoradiation before his surgery His chemo was in the form of pill called Xeloda. His tumor ...

Re: New here and questions about disappearing/shrinking nodes

BTW I dont know if your husband would agree with this sentiment but I really feel that this disease/process is every bit or maybe even harder on the loved ones around you. I can do things to make me feel empowered or in control of something but my husband feels completely helpless in this situation ...

Re: New here and questions about disappearing/shrinking nodes

Hi Nordy1, I am sorry you are going through confusion. Unfortunately I don't have answers for you. We are in the same shoe. My husband had one 9mm enlarged iliac lymph node before he started his chemo. Had MRI after 4 cycles and his lymph node is still there, 9mm not bigger not smaller. We are confu...

Sorry to hear about your situation. The way you feel is great. They say positive attitude is the key. The more you keep your mind away from it. The easier it will be for you.

Hi All, Haven't been active lately, were busy with hubby's chemo, side effects,.my own surgery. So before my husband started his post op chemo he had one enlarged (9mm) common iliac lymph node showing on both CT and MRI. Hello and happy to hear your husband is stable and doing well. A question though. How do they know.the distant lymph nodes were cancerous and not inflammation. Did they biopsy them?

Re: Mass in sigmoid colon and one ovary

Hi Amarie. That is great news. If all the harvested lymph nodes come back negative for cancer, it will put you at Stage2, I'd assume. Wishing you a speedy recovery from your surgery.
