Re: Seek 2nd opinion??

Thank you both for your replies! Yes, I will definitely see my local GI doctor sooner if I start to have any issues before next scope... other than that I suppose I'll get the next scope next December 2016 (since Cleveland doctor thought it was safe), that will be two years from the first. I'll cont...

Re: Seek 2nd opinion??

Just wanted to post an update on this post. I saw a GI specialist/colon researcher at Cleveland clinic this week for a second opinion. The doctor told me that tubulovillous adenomas aren't common in young adults, but they are found sometimes... and when they are, they are like mine. They are typical...

Re: Colonoscopies...

Hi souprgirl! Thanks for your reply! lol I noticed you had a tubulovillous adenoma too, so did I. May I ask how old you were when they found it? When are they going to remove yours?? Mine was found last year at age 34. My GI doctor didn't look too bad as well for his age, and that definitely made th...

Re: Colonoscopies...

Ha ha ha thanks Ron! I guess your right... any medical procedure is not fun. Ironically I'm an LPN, but have medical anxiety myself. I take Vistaril which helps before procedures, but unfortunately can't have it before colonoscopies since you can't have anything by mouth except a couple sips of wate...

Re: Colonoscopies...

Thank you both for your replies... I had moviprep last time I think... It tasted like salty lemon sea water, yuck! lol My GI doctor said he thought it was the easiest prep he wrote for his patients. I'll have to look in to the Gatorade mixture though. Yes, I'm hoping this next colonoscopy is clear! ...

Colonoscopies...

Does the dread of getting a colonoscopy ever get better? I'm due to have another one soon... I had my first one last year where my GI doctor found a 12mm tubulovillous adenoma (benign). I was having rectal bleeding in stool, so that's why I initially seen him. He wanted to rescreen me in 3 years, bu...

Re: 30 yrs old, 3 polyps

When I was 48 I had rectal bleeding, went in for a colonoscopy. They found two polyps, said the bleeding was likely due to hemorrhoids. I went merrily on, not worrying until three years later when the bleeding suddenly got much worse. Back for another colonoscopy, they found a stage 2-3 rectal canc...

Re: 30 yrs old, 3 polyps

Thanks for updating us. Glad to hear no cancer was found, that's great news! Sorry about the adenomas though... Fortunately, it sounds like they caught them in time. I had a 1.2 cm tubulovillous adenoma (benign) last December, so I have to have another colonoscopy in the near future. Mine was defini...

Re: 30 yrs old, 3 polyps

I completely understand your concern.. I myself have medical anxiety (and am ironically a nurse).... I have white coat syndrome as well (BP goes up when I go to the doctor, although I'm learning to control it some better.) I take Vistaril for marked anxiety, and that helps me. When I was waiting for...

Re: 30 yrs old, 3 polyps

Hi, I'm 35 years old, female. I was having the same symptoms as you, blood and mucous in stool on and off for about a year or two. I went to a GI specialist last year and had a colonoscopy as well. He found that I had one 13 mm tubulovillous adenoma polyp. It is a precancerous type of polyp. Fortuna...

Re: Advice would be really appreciated!!

It's good you're getting a colonoscopy. I am 35/f, mom of two girls. I had similar symptoms last year. I had a colonoscopy and the GI doctor found I had a 1.2 cm tubulovillous adenoma in the sigmoid colon. It was fortunately benign, but I now have to have more frequent colonoscopies in life. After i...

Thanks for your post... I was diagnosed with a tubulovillous adenoma this past December. I'm 35, and looking for ways to prevent future polyps... I have read a lot of mixed reviews on Vit D and Aspirin as well...

Re: Thank you

Thanks for the update. I followed your posts skoliv when you were on before! Glad you're doing well! I'm 35/f. I had a colonscopy in Dec. 2014 (due to blood in stool), and my GI doctor found I had a 1.2 cm tubulovillous adenoma polyp in my sigmoid colon. Fortunately it was benign, but I will need mo...

Re: Possible Colon Cancer symptoms?

I agree that you should talk with a doctor, preferably a GI doctor if you can get an appt. The only real way to know is to get a colonoscopy. I'm 35/F. I was having blood and mucous in my stool for a while, and finally saw a GI specialist last year. I had a colonoscopy in Dec. 2014 and the GI specia...
