Re: Question for chemo for lifers...

Awww Beans Mama, I am so sorry you feel so ill and have so many questions unanswered about your future. It's rough. It's scary and terrible. I am on my 6th round of plain n terrible folfox and I can't imagine how bad your mega-chemo is. My thoughts are with you and your family. I don't have any advi...

Re: Is confusion, constipation, change in personality common?

Oh Linda, your post really touched my heart. I am so sorry for this pain you and your dad and family are undergoing. I don't have any wisdom but your dad is lucky to have such a loving daughter, and you are so lucky to have a wonderful dad. I wish you strength and peace for the days ahead.

Re: Now Its In The Liver

So sorry you have to delay your trip. I hope the new treatment works and you are on your Merry way very soon. You must be a very strong person and I know you will continue to be strong and get this done so you can go on your trip! Good luck and update when you can.

Re: Allergic Reaction to Oxi

I had my next infusion of folfox and so far have not had any itching, whelts, rashes, etc. My next infusion is on 13 December. So my allergic reaction does not look like it was due to the chemo. Color me shocked- I was sure it was.

Hoping your Mom is doing well!

Re: Diagnosed 3 days ago

Please believe you have every right to be mind blown right now. For weeks after my surgery I would wake up and remember suddenly that I was now a cancer person. I would cry and be very sad. The shock is immense. See your doc and do everything you can to fight this bastard disease. You are not alone i...

Re: In dire need of help....

I have had a c section with a 10 lb baby in my 20s, open, and in August had open surgery on my right side due to a cancerous bowel obstruction. I am 46. The right hemicolectmy was way worse than the c section. I was shaky, weak, off balance, tired, and plain terrified for 3 months. My appetite and b...

Re: Allergic Reaction to Oxi

This is interesting to me. I am currently doing FOLFOX, and about one week after my pump was disconnected (from my third round)I broke out in itchy raised bumps hives and whelts from scalp to lower thigh. The hives were HUGE and itched madly. I had to go to an urgent care center on Thanksgiving day ...

Re: If you want prayer stop in here!

I pray for all of us here. I pray that if it be God's Will, we will be healed. I pray that our bodies and our doctors and medicines work to give us all the long and happy life we so desire. I am thankful that God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross, that we sinners may be washed fre...

Re: Rant: Death

Ugh. My favorite (not) subject. There's a quiet little cemetery right down the road from our new home. Every time we pass it, I think that that's where I will be before long. And I don't think it in a dramatic, tears in eyes, hopeless way. Just a matter of fact, that's where my stats and dx lead way...

Re: Help for my husband diagnosed 9/16/16 Stage III?

3 B here. I am on the chemo side. I know it's scary- I don't want to do it, either. But I am doing it. It isn't optional saith my onky. I just did my first FOLFOX and got the pump unhooked. It's just a process to try to help us live, that must be done. My kids would be so unhappy if I didn't do chem...

With you in thought, Darkness Embraced. I hope and pray you receive only the best results! :D

I don't know if TMI applies here, but my first chemo coincided with my period. I have fibroids, and it hurts so very much! It adds that little touch of hell that was missing, don't it?

Re: Question...Cancer and privacy vs openness

I wanted to be private. Like not telling my family beyond my kids and husband. Alas, my husband had a freak out after my surgery and diagnosis and called his Mom and my Dad and spilled the beans. Boy was I unhappy. I don't want anybody to know...but it's too late and I guess with my chemo there's re...

Re: Monitoring for Children of Parents with Colon Cancer

I hear you. I have CRC at 46, have 3 kids, ages 22, 20, and 19. My 20 year old has been diagnosed "IBS-D" and boy that makes me unhappy. I actually made him (with the sheer power of anger) get a colonoscopy last year. He joined the Marines and before he left I insisted he get one and peste...
