I have nothing against vegetarians, but I only eat grass-fed meat which gives you the benefit of the good stuff the animals are eating. I’m not giving up meat, just making sure I only eat well-sourced meat. Also not giving up alcohol.
Yes, I have red, blistery feet from the Xeloda. It hurts to walk around. It didn’t manifest itself until cycle 4 or 5. Hopefully now that I’m done it will go away eventually.
My understanding is that there are two differences between Xeloda and 5FU: 1) Xeloda has more GI effects 2) 5FU gets more quickly into your bloodstream. The advantage of Xeloda is that it’s pills over a pump. My onc said he didn’t see much difference in outcomes between the two, at least in my case....
Today is my last day of Xeloda pills! Tomorrow I see the doctor for my medical clearance for my reversal surgery. Going to celebrate by having a beer tonight!
My hands are fine. Sometimes I lose my grip and drop things, but I often wonder if I’ve always done that and just never noticed it until now. I don’t have any numbness or tingling. My feet are still recovering - they get red and angry and blistery and occasionally tingly if I stress them too much. I...

I had to switch to convex wafers as well. I have lots of flat ones to give away. Nobody told me to use convex until I finally saw a competent stoma nurse.
rp1954, can you tell me how your wife takes curcumin? Is it in pill or powder form? I am planning to start taking it but want to make sure it has maximum effectiveness. I think I read on another board how to do this, but it was a bit confusing.
How much time have you taken off work? Has it mainly been to stabilize any bowel issues? I am nervous because my reversal is on March 12, and I have only requested one week off. Should I stay home the second week? I have a key hire to make and need to do some interviews, but am anxious that I won’t ...
I never drank or drink diet soda, but I'm sure there were environmental and food factors that played into my diagnosis, combined with an unlucky random mutation. I mentioned on a previous thread that I have lived with one of my triplet sisters for the last decade, and we have essentially had a simil...
