Re: Scan results not what I had hoped for ...

Shana, I know your latest scan wasn't what was hoped for, but with the increased Irinotecan I'm hoping that may push things back on the right track. I would be interested on what you find out concerning potential clinical trials and that process since you are feeling strong. Positive thoughts headin...

Re: Trying Keytruda Off-Label (MSS with a Twist)

I hope Keytruda does the trick! I've noticed several people have been going off label (other forums) and having success. Good luck and keep us posted!

Re: Working during Irenotecan

I just completed cycle 5 with Folfiri + Avastin. So far I've found it overall more tolerable than Folfox. Usually I get one good loose stool after infusion on day 1, then pretty much o.k. with no or very little diarrhea the rest of the cycle. I seem to notice more fatigue and less nausea (from cycle...

Can't comment on the staples as I never had them, but hope the healing goes well and you have a smooth ride from here.

Re: Scanxiety: Anyone else having testing now?

WOOHOO! Just got a call from my ONC office about yesterday's PET Scan. My nurse advised it showed significant improvement. No particulars as I have an appointment with ONC Monday, but it's the first time one is better than the last! Hopefully the first step of many in the right direction.

Re: Scanxiety: Anyone else having testing now?

Scanxiety, Oh yeah! Mines next Tues. and since every scan to date has been worse than the one before, I usual dread it. Lately I feel less pain and my last CEA test dropped from 43 to 16.9 in the last month or so. Something working??? Anyways, I choose to look forward to this one and think positive ...

Re: New member seeking support

Hi Trevor, Sorry you had to come to a cancer site, but glad you made it here. As I have found out, there is a wealth of very knowledgeable members on the forum. I know it's hard, but try to take a breath. One of the early posts I read when I joined stated "this is not a sprint, but a marathon&q...

Re: Mop up chemo experiences

I think you will find room temp. liquids (for me, food also) are best because OXI can cause cold sensitivity in the mouth, throat, lips the first several days of your cycle. My side affects during FOLFOX always improved as I progressed through my 2 week cycle. The first cycle is tougher because of t...

Re: KRAS Mutation- any one long term NED?

Sorry your treatment was delayed Brenda. I haven't been delayed as of yet, but was close a few times during FOLFOX. My next treatment is also scheduled on Wed. and my next scan is the day after yours (4/3). Here's hoping all goes as planned and the scans show a good response and/or stability. Just a...

Re: KRAS Mutation- any one long term NED?

Hi Brenda, I wonder about the same issues of waiting too long "IF" surgery becomes an option. I know we need the wait time after chemo + Avastin, but we never know how long the regimen is going to be effective in the first place. Some members seem to have a good response for a long time, o...

Re: Folfox Allergy

Hi Mercy, Can't really say what's normal, but I did have 2 months from my last FOLFOX infusion 12/13/17 and starting FOLFIRI + Avastin on 02/14/18 (Valentines Day and Anniversary and made it through dinner fine). I had a post chemo CT scan with results on 12/28/17 which got me to a liver biopsy and ...
