Re: Stivarga Trial / Ozone Therapy

Hi Jaclyn, I'm currently on Stivarga, under a clinical trial at my hospital in Montreal. The trial is for patients with mcrc having failed first line chemo (folfox in my case) only. As you mentioned, Stivarga is usually reserved for patients having exhausted 1st and 2nd line chemo options, therefore...

Re: Will be switched to Stivarga

I've been on Stivarga for 15 months now and continue to do well. I had a rapidly growing lung met when I started and it shrunk during the first few cycles and has been stable for almost a year. The stats on Stivarga are not great but it does work well for some people (around 20%). My qol is good, al...

Re: Not sure why this happened

Hi Judy, Your experience is eerily similar to one I had. It was during my first ever ct scan, just days after being diagnosed. I had already had many drs examine me, ie shove their fingers up my butt, because my tumor was very low and easily palpable. There was pain, but I was able to grin and bear ...

Re: Inflammation from CT?

Hi Jay, I've never experienced swollen glands like you described, but I definitely feel awful for a while after a Ct scan with contrast. My gut is upset almost immediately and I also feel 'blah. The gi issues and blahness can last anywhere from a day or two, up to a week. I just drink a lot of water...

Re: Intro & some questions

Hi Suse, Welcome to the club but so sorry that you have to be here. You've gotten a rough deal with your stage I to IV diagnosis in such a short period of time. If you'd like more info on dealing with FOLFOX side effects, you are in the right place. You can use the search bar and enter 'folfox side ...

Rest in peace Lisa

I was saddened to learn this evening of the passing CC member Lisa (ls001sp). She hadn't posted much in the past year but we shared a few calls over our respective Stivarga experiences. She was an awesome lady, with many friends and family who loved her dearly. My thought are with them at this diffi...

Re: OT :travelling with colostomy, holiday in California!!

I agree with Lee that you should carry a few days worth of supplies in your carry on. I always stash a bit everywhere, just in case something gets lost. I usually bring way more supplies than I think I'll need and find a way to pack it all up. The longest trip I've taken is 2 weeks though. I would s...

Re: Your list. Help needed.

IMO, people SHOULD NOT say any of the following: - recommend any treatments or diets. Period. - tell you about their uncle Bob who had the same cancer and died - tell you about their uncle Bob who had the same cancer and survived by eating dandelions - tell you about their hemorrhoids or any other p...
