Re: Any Stage 4 long term survivors/cured ?

I am currently 5.5 years since diagnosis of Stage IV to liver and lungs. After chemo, surgeries (6), cryoablations, and maintenance chemo I was NED for 15 months. Just found a small spot on my lower left lung and have another cryoablation scheduled Sept. 5th to take care of that one. Been living a n...

Re: Rectal fissure post reversal

I had a botox injection into the muscles around the fissue done at MDA when I had my fissure. Pain went away almost instantly and haven't had any since. They put you to sleep for the injection.

Re: 5.5 years stage IV, now one year NED

You can research the protocol online and ask your onc to follow it or try calling the Fred Hutch Cancer Center and see if anyone will give you a contact number / email for him.

5.5 years stage IV, now one year NED

My most recent scan this week came back NED again. That will make it one year since my last lung cryablation. I am so thankful and post this to give hope to others. I am still on maintenance Xeloda, Celebrex, and Avastin but live a pretty normal life now!

Best wishes,

Stephen

9 months NED after 5 years stage IV

I received my third consecutive clear scan this past Monday. That makes 9 months NED! This is the longest run of NED that I have had in the past 5+ years (since diagnosis). I will continue on Adapt with Avastin for three more months and scan again in May. This is really incredible news! Thanks for a...

Re: Lung surgery advice

I had to go to London (Dr. Ladas) because no doctor in the US would do surgery, had too many nodules. Dr. Ladas removed 12 bilateral lung nodules during my two surgeries with him. Gotcha. Doctor mentioned my husband is pushing the limit with 5 nodules, so makes sense. Do you know if having surgery ...

Re: Lung surgery advice

The laser surgeries in London and Germany are not less invasive, they are pretty invasive and I had a more nodules pop up just 1.5 months after my laser surgeries. I would look into SBRT or cryoablation. Surgery is usually the gold standard for a cure but I have had 5 cryoablations with much success...

Re: Stage IV for 4.5 years.....NED again!!

I would do laser lung resection again in a heartbeat with Dr Ladas in London. He is excellent and removed 12-15 nodules throughout both of my lungs, some of which were undetectable on CT. Since then, I have had 5 cryoablations at MDA, no more than two at a time have popped up and all under 1cm. We a...

Re: Laser Assisted Pulmonary Metastasectomy (8 to 100 mets)

Everyone that I have spoken to (including Dr. Lin) regarding dosage of Xeloda on Adapt is 1000mg twice a day or 2000mg/day while on the Celebrex. I have tried to use cimetidine before and after my surgeries but haven't had any luck with it so far. I have had several lung reoccurances every time. The...
