Re: KRAS G12V and Avastin

Just a reminder from a fellow Dr Googler to another: the terms we search on Google can affect what results pop up. The algorithms are only as smart as the terms we type in. I find myself scouring the internet often for some piece of information, usually coming up with the exact opposite of what I wa...

I think my issue is we haven’t been told anything about chemo yet (they said a nurse would go over everything DURING her first infusion) so I started Googling and kept finding articles about “second hand chemo” and how it’s been linked to infertility, birth defects and cance...

Additional safety precautions for breastfeeding mothers and children?

My mom is set to start her chemo on Monday and it’s getting real and scary. I plan to be her caregiver. I am still breastfeeding my 1 year old—is it still safe for me to be her caregiver? Specifically can I drive her to/from appts, sit with her in the actual infusion room for all 4 hours each time? ...

Re: Upcoming tests, worried

I suffer from severe health anxiety so I totally understand your fear. I know that nothing will really ease that fear for good until you get your colonoscopy done. It’s a daily battle to fight anxiety because you feel like you are already living a diagnosis before anyone has diagnosed you with anyth...

Thank you both so much. BS, you are so right—I will probably need to keep coming back to re-read your words when I start to spiral. AppleTree, thank you for the suggestions for relaxation techniques—I need alllll the advice I can get in that area. Today I had to listen to a mediation app while doing...

Re: Time from dx to first treatment?

Thank you all for your insight. My mom is advanced Stage 3–we aren’t sure if it is 3b or 3c as her MRI report just says “N2—more than 4 lymph nodes” and does not specify whether it is N2a or N2b. We have a second opinion at Mayo on the 30th but have our first systemic chemo set for Nov 1, exactly on...
