Glad to hear, sounds like the Drs are putting their heads together for you! Sucks about the drug shortage though.

Yes, tell your Oncologist, could be a side effect of Oxaliplatin (or another chemo drug)

Re: Caregiver overload

I'm pretty sure I can relate to how your husband is feeling. Radiation/chemo, upcoming surgery, dreading an ostomy, etc. is all so overwhelming. I'm not even sure that I can offer any words of comfort, other than to say, several of us here have been in your shoes and made it through. I won't sugar c...

Re: New here!

I have no idea either, maybe that's better than a definite cancer diagnosis? Hoping for good news for you.

Re: No sugar??

When I was first diagnosed, some friends baked a cake and brought it by our house, it probably didn't help with the cancer... but damn it was goooood! Cupcakes and cakes, Oh my!! I usually prefer my sugar in it's purest form... Chocolate!

Be careful Annemiek, mentioning naughty treats could start an avalanche of ideas on it's own! :D

Re: I'm new and concerned I may have Colon Cancer. Can you help?

I just went through the whole rectal cancer thing and I'm still here, alive and well so far! Even if it is advanced rectal cancer, it can be dealt with. Remember this if the Doctors give you a cancer diagnosis, you will do the same thing that all the rest of us have done...get up, dust your self off...

Re: my husband wants to stop chemo and opt for alternative. help!

Yea, I would gladly buy his book and follow his advice if I knew he had amputated his own leg while meditating...seems that surgery is still the best first line of defense.

Re: No sugar??

Vilca's answer makes mine look simple and stupid. I usually respond to people giving me cancer advice by saying " what kind of cancer did you have, and how long have you been cured"? They usually shut the hell up!

Looks like he has had a positive response with the colon and liver, maybe something in addition to chemo for the lungs?
