Re: Have you Gained Weight?

I didn't have chemo or radiation after surgery, which was how I was cured. But I have gained quite a bit of weight since my resection. In one way, it's not so bad because I'm tall. But, now I'm having other health concerns and trying to find out what's going on. When I stepped on the scale Tuesday, ...

Re: Understanding the attitude towards ostomies...

I talked to my wife about this subject, while I was reading the thread. I asked her if it would "bother" her, or make me "less attractive if I had one. Her answer was "It would suck a lot less than being a widow." I count my blessings that I haven't needed one. But if it eve...

Re: The results are in

Is that the gorilla that sleeps anywhere he wants to? Thanks for sharing the good news. It helps us all. Good luck Jeff Yep, that's him. Well, he can't exactly sleep ANYWHERE in our house. Our bed is full. With me, my wife, our Miniature Schnauzer and our Chihuahua in there, there's no room for any...

The results are in

The results are in on the biopsy of the polyp taken during last week's colonoscopy and I get to keep my title. I am STILL NED!!!!!!!! The 800lb gorilla is in the other room, packing his bags! :D Now, perhaps at next Wednesday's follow up appointment, we can start to get an idea of what's going on in...

I had my colonoscopy today

Doctor found and removed one small polyp. Did say the resection site (done two years ago) looked good. So now, my wife and I wait, likely 'til early next week, for results of the biopsy. At least we'll have that 800lb gorilla to keep us company. :? On a bright note, Jimmy spent most of our afternoon...

Speaking of Poo(And I don't mean that chubby little cubbie)

As I've mentioned lately, I've been feeling kinda yucky lately. I had a liver ultrasound, after a blood sample revealed elevated liver enzymes. Thankfully, all that was found was some "fatty invasion." (If my wife wasn't such a good cook, I could do something about that!) I then went to se...

None sillier than this:

My wife maintains that wasn't a polyp I had removed two years ago. It was a hunk of SPAM!

Re: Update time

First hurdle successfully crossed: Got results today from last Friday's liver ultrasound. Nothing but a bit of "fatty invasion." So, that's good news, eh? :D

Next up is next Wednesday's colonoscopy. I bet I ace it. :!:

Update time

Here's what's been going on since my last update. (Reader's Digest version: I was concerned about near continuous discomfort in the rectal area) A couple of weeks ago, I went to see the doctor. Got the digital rectal exam and everything, including the turn your head and cough check(Without the turn ...

Re: ***CALLING ALL POTENTIAL COLONDAR MODELS!!!***

Just my luck to have been an old guy (51) when I was diagnosed. I would have really classed up the joint!

Oh well, I'll stick to ordering the new colandars every year. Hopefully, I can help make a difference that way. :D

Remove all doubt and ask your surgeon about this. And if confirms your suspicions, express your disapointment.

Re: Why do surgeons make such messy scars?

my scars from my colon cancer is itty bitty as well :) i like it it goes around my belly button then a perfect straight line amazing how docs can remove all those organs with very little slicing and dicing. Wow! Mine too! Maybe we should start a club or something? Though honestly scars are the leas...
