Re: Another update on vman

He will be in my prayers, I hope his surgery was successful, that they were able to removed the blockage. I've got some stomach bug that is causing me discomfort for the past couple of days, I can only wonder how painful a blockage must be. Please keep us posted, I hope he's doing O.K. right now. Lee

Re: Couldn't Swallow Pill Cam

I'm sorry the pill cam did not work, I will keep that in mind, because I too sometimes do not swallow pills well, especially horse (big) pills. I ALWAYS must put any pill way in the back of my throat then swallow, swallow, swallow, so that all it can do is fall down my throat. When I did my first co...

Re: After chemoradiation, how is staging and treatment planned?

I had 4 nodes positive prior to radiation, 6 would be confirmed after surgery. This was almost 5 yrs ago but I was told, any staging prior to surgery, was just an estimate, that surgery (and all testing with it) would be the official call. The staging before surgery was to help determine what protoc...

Re: I'm curious, did any women out there have this symptom?

Hi Dori, Sorry to hear about your diagnoses. While I too was stage IIIC (rectal cancer), I did not have the symptom you described. I only had some rectal bleeding in the 6 mths leading up to my diagnoses. My Dr confirmed my bleeding was due to my hemmerroids, he figured my bleeding would be a good e...

Re: Overwhelmed after rectal surgery

I was diagnosed almost 5 yrs ago at the age of 46. I had rectal bleeding for about 6 mths when I mentioned it to my Dr. Dr ran some tests, all was normal, it appeared to be just my hemmorroids. Dr figured the rectal bleeding would be a good excuse to get my baseline colonoscopy early in life, the re...

Re: Is early prevention the cure??

I could go on and on about people under fifty getting some stages of this disease. I was 46 when diagnosed with stage III rectal cancer with no family history. Because of me, my husband was check, they found 3 pre cancerous polyps at age 47. My sister in law lied thru her teeth to get her first colo...
