Re: Blood Clot in calf, doctor not treating it???

I decided to update my post in case this helps anyone in the future. The onc had my husband scanned the Fri after his initial Mon diagnosis. On Mon, they said they would take a "wait and see" approach. I still don't understand why as the clot is a deep vein thrombosis. They simply told him...

Re: What they say when you tell 'm

I get annoyed when people tell us how important it is to "stay positive", as if positive thinking will determine the entire course of the disease. Is it my husbands fault if the cancer comes back because he didn't think positively enough??? Do we tell people with MS, Tuberculosis, HIV, etc...

Re: Unemployed and Diagnosed

My husband was diagnosed mid-January of this year. He works in construction, long hours on his feet, a job much too physical for how the side effects are affecting him. Plus, on the days he wears the fanny pack, the tubing and the pack itself would be a hinderance. So, basically my husband is collec...

Blood Clot in calf, doctor not treating it???

My husband has been having severe calf pain since last Mon. He called onc on Thurs and they said since his calf was not red, warm or swollen, it was probably not a clot. She said he probably had a calcium deficiency due to FOLFOX. Well he went for treatment today and the nurse asked him why he was h...

surgeon / oncologist disagree on staging

Hell everyone, I'm a new member who posted a question once about satellite tumors. Well my husband had oncology apt and chemo today. We never officially asked the onc the stage because the surgeon had told us many times (because I asked her many times!!!) that it was stage iiic. Well at last oncolog...

Re: To Those Who Had Narrow/Flat Stool

My husband observed narrow, flat stools (or ribbon like stools) for months before his diagnosis . It took him forever to "go" and he often felt like he still had to "go" when he was done. I once asked him "How do you keep a job you are in there sooooo long?" With your h...

Re: new member

Thank you both for replying. Number 6 is actually due un August. I had to tell my poor hubby I was pregnant in the hospital after his surgery. Everything was so up in the air, not knowing if he would live or die, never having to deal with this situation before. Our oldest is almost 13 (we were on th...
