Re: Just diagnosed and trying to keep from freaking out

Hang in there Lgoulet. I know it's shocking and hard at first. Stage IV is a scary diagnosis, but it doesn't mean the end is looming either. ONce you get in and start doing something about the disease, you will feel better. I worked throughout all my chemo (and I'm still working) with no problems. E...

Maintenance Trial -avastin only

I heard from my onc that there is a trial going on right now to test avastin only as a maint therapy. I had a few things pop up earlier this year and started Xeloda and Avastin in March, all six mets identified are shrinking on the treatment based on my last scan.... My onc said he is waiting for th...

Just checking in on the board. Icesk8tr passing has shook me to the my core. so sad, we were both diagnosed around the same time. I'm out of remission, five lymph things starting to glow, possible bone met on 8th rib. Going back to xeloda and avastin to see if it will control it. We will see. feelin...

Re: Stage 4 Survival stories

Hi Felicity,

I'm coming up on six years. I have not had Chemo since 2011. I've been NED for 1 year. See signature below. It gets easier the further out you get......best of luck to you.

Re: CRC with one small liver met, low CEA

Hi.... Your husband's experience sounds close to mine. I also had one liver met. It disappeared with chemo after just a couple of months. It came back 3 years later and I had a resection. I had another small met pop up about a year later, and we zapped it with sbrt. I have been NED for about a year ...

Anyone else ever dealt with this?

I've been having major pain on the right side under my ribs. It is very non specific and seems to move around alot. At times the pain could also be felt when I lie down on my back. Laying on the area, leaning over to tie my shoes, coughing, would also cause pain. I did not think this was cancer rela...

I had good results with SBRT. three easy 10 minute treatments and I was done. Nothing has come back in the treated areas. Good luck.

Re: How good is this good news?

Sounds like you are responding well! That is exactly what you want!

My response was also strong to chemo, and I haven't had to go back on it for 4 years now. It really beat back the cancer in my nodes. Although I'm not NED, the cancer in nodes is stable.

Good luck to you.

Re: Anybody here had long-term remission after a recurrence?

I've had some long remissions. I haven't had a treatment in a year (SBRT), and have been off chemo for 4 years.

See my sig.

Best to you

Here is how I celebrate Steve... a bike ride, a hike in the forest, a piece of cherry pie, a commute to work, a chat on the phone, camp out with friends, watching my son play high school football, a hug with my kids, a long day on the job, shopping for a birthday gift, dinner with the DH ...and a m...

Re: soothing the mind helpful insights appreciated

Nate I'm sorry for your diagnosis. I agree that the first months are the worst. I calmed down some, when I had a treatment plan. It felt good to be doing something about it....but I was still in despair thinking I only had a little time left. My kids were only 8 and 11 at the time. I used to stand a...
