Re: ascites

Update - I am feeling somewhat better. The issue seems to come and go somewhat with good and bad days. I think what worked this time was limiting fluids. I really hate doing that as dehydration can cause so many other problems but it seems to have had a positive effect this time. Hopefully as I incr...

Re: Nausea and headache day 1 of chemo, advice

Generally that is within the range of responses but I'm not sure what chemo you are on. Avastin is really bad about the headaches. Stay hydrated and sleep as much as possible.

Re: ascites

The muscle strain is an old injury that I aggravate from time to time. I tweaked it when I had a cold and was coughing and sneezing. I know when it gets tweaked I have to be careful but I though it was good. Then I leaned out of my car to pick up the paper and felt it pop. When it gets to this stage...

Re: ascites

A couple things - I won't be changing my diet. If food stops tasting good then I just won't eat so I think I am better off eating what I like which includes plenty of salt. And Alcohol actually makes me feel better. I think it's probably the diuretic effect it has but it helps me. There are also som...

Re: ascites

Well thanks Stu. And I'll ask about that drug. The other odd thing is that my doctor doesn't believe liver damage is causing it. He thinks it from the peritoneum being aggravated and damaged by mets.

Re: ascites

I have told the doctors about the breathing. My pulse O2 is fine so they aren't worried. I think it's more that it's pushing on my lungs and feels strange. Also - it's better lying down strangely enough. But yes - they say draining just starts and endless cycle and should only be done if absolutely ...

ascites

I really don't recommend fluid in the abdomen. I have lost my appetite, I have some trouble breathing, and I have no energy. I am trying to delay diuretics or drainage as long as I can as my doctor recommends doing so but I may have to start soon as this isn't much fun.

Re: Day 1 FOLFOX with throat issues.

But it restarted every cycle for you Kenny? It did for me. I experimented with acclimating my nervous system to it and it worked...sort of. After an unpleasant day of handling colder and colder things, I was able to greatly reduce the sensitivity. Unfortunately after sleeping it was like it complete...

Re: TAS 102 trial diary

It sounds like the biggest problem with it is the way it hits the immune system. That could limit how long one could take it.

Re: Day 1 FOLFOX with throat issues.

With most people, I think it doesn't get worse but it might not get better.

Re: If anyone is interested

Best other tip: use a shredder. Trash is a key source for security leaks.
