Re: CT Scan contrast injection and kidneys, advice, please

After 21 years of survival with numerous scans and a heap of scopes done with fleet prep , my kidneys are toast. I suffer from nephrotic syndrome of the kidneys . I take cyclosporine twice a day. I have moderate to severe neuropathy of both feet and legs. I suffer auto immune oedema ( not related to...

Re: Seeking advice of colorectal cancer Survivors

Hi Disissue, I was dxed with an aggressive stage3c into six nodes. Right from the start I chose to just do whatever the doctors told me to do and although I have issues from chemo at the time I made up my mind that there would be no regrets with whatever I chose to do. I had 48 sessions of chemo , e...

Re: Just can't let it go

Hi Del, I am a survivor of stage 3c colon cancer. This Jan I reached year 21. I have had around 14 scopes over that period and have had polyps remove during half of them. My last scope was nearly two years ago. They removed four tubular adenomas between 4 and 11 mm. They are not the easiest of polyp...

Re: Happy 20 years of survivorship -- and birthday -- to TCC's founder, Molly!

Happy birthday Molly and very happy anniversary for twenty years. Thanks to all the crew for their hard work. I have been very fortunate to survive for over twenty years as well. I suspect I have some idea of your inner feelings. Hugs Ron.

Re: Another anniversary

G'day Wayne, thanks mate . I'm 69 in a month and at the moment have no chance of giving up work. I bought a 4 meter kayak last year. It lets me sneak up on some nice fish but makes me forget that my body is too stuffed to sneak up on anything. I'm heading up to Miara on the Kolan river on Friday for...

Re: Stage 3c

Hi nzjez, My only advice is to live like a survivor . Take whatever treatment they recommend. Ask lots of questions, there are no stupid questions when you are seriously ill. Just my opinion , avoid smoking and drinking . Find a healthy diet you can live with and avoid excesses. I was dxed with very...

Re: 3C Recently Diagnosed - need support

Hi Marshmallowjones, Welcome aboard. I was dxed with stage 3c colon cancer into 6 of 13 nodes when I was 48. It was very aggressive and my surgeon told me not to expect more than three years. I told him don't worry I don't die of cancer. I have no idea what will get me but it won't be cancer. I had ...

Re: Colon Polyp History

Hi Tacolover, I have had to change several parts of my diet I haven't touched alcohol since 1998, I don't smoke and I avoid complex carbohydrates. One of my post chemo problems was severe protein urea ( protein loss thru the kidney filters.) my then nephrologist thought it was minimal change disease...

Re: Colon Polyp History

Hi Taco lover, My first scope at 48 ended with a dx of stage 3c colon ca into six nodes. Since my surgery and chemo therapy I have had around 13 colonoscopies, half of those resulted in polyps. I had my last scope two years ago after a 3 year wait between scopes. My gi was certain he would not find ...

Re: New symptom: swollen feet??

I would be asking my gp to check a sample of my urine for protein loss. Protein is what virtually keeps your blood in your veins . If you are losing too much thru your kidney filters you can suffer protein -urea. Years after chemo I started blowing up in the legs . I was tested and I was losing just...
