Re: DK37 Experimental Immunotherapy Treatment Update

I’m confused. This looks like blog post, not meant for scientific publication. Are you actually in a trial or just experimenting on yourself? Anyway, I can testify to the intense pain at primary tumor site experienced when I first started Pembrolizumab. Lasted six weeks. Six weeks of hell.

If only one tumor seems to not be responding it is possible it has mutated a defense to pembrolizumab.

Lynch already indicates you have a dramatically increased risk for gastric cancer. At a certain age, your doctor should start scoping you.

They will look for suspicious features on other organs each time you get a CT. I am not sure what the protocol is if you do not have any suspicious features on distant organs yet, but I know that every CT is a long term trade off because of the radiation dose. When suspicious features are found, hig...

Re: Rectal cancer (Stage 3A) diagnosed late June 2017

My surgeon scheduled a sigmoidoscopy about 2 weeks after I finished chemoradiation. It was then he told me all that was left was scar tissue and I may not need chemo after surgery. My oncologist ordered a pet scan about 5-6 weeks after chemoradiation and it showed no evidence of cancer especially i...

Re: Colon cancer scared!

Hello all. I have been struggling with bowel issues for over 5 yrs. First started with constipation, on amd off. It's now pain in the left of my stomach near navel, lower tummy near ovaries and pain on my side as well as back. The left part of my tummy is a little bigger than my right perhaps from ...

Re: Malignant polyp, stalk invaded

Hi guys, thanks so much for your replies it's much appreciated. I need to get hold of the pathology report as i believe i now have a solid base of understanding to read it. One thing which is confusing me is the distinction between the sub mucosa of the predunculated polyp, and the submucosa of the...

Re: Rectal case from Hong Kong (UPDATE: Lung Met, KRAS MUTATED, PLZ HELP!)

Perhaps I should use the term remission. Though I do think that we will get to cures at some point. Right now we have better survival rates and the technology to make a lot of progress in determining how mechanisms work and, perhaps how to develop new drugs. There's far more to research, though, th...

Re: Rectal case from Hong Kong (UPDATE: Lung Met, KRAS MUTATED, PLZ HELP!)

My son was upset that the standard treatment for CRC is 5FU, a treatment that has been around for 50 years, when we're seeing targeted treatments for various kinds of cancer. He knows that it's all about the numbers but it can be frustrating when there's a miracle drug for others but not for you or...

Re: Rectal case from Hong Kong (UPDATE: Lung Met, KRAS MUTATED, PLZ HELP!)

Also, chemo/radiation adjuvant with surgery can actually cure you with relatively good probability so long as they can resect everything. Immunotherapy offers no cure. At best it makes the disease chronically manageable for a vanishingly small minority of patients. I’d much rather be in a situation ...

Re: I looked at my mom's rectum and....

The tumor moved around a lot. The surgeon noted this during her examination and part of it could come outside so that I could see it. She thought that it might be a tumor on top of a large polyp. Unfortunately, it invaded the muscle about two weeks later and then became fixed in place. This was bef...

Re: Precancerous Polyp at 23

Lynch Syndrome is associated with a dramatically increased lifetime risk of developing many different types of cancer, colorectal just being the highest risk factor of them all. But it does not predispose you to cancer as a young adult. The neoplasticity resulting from a pathological mutation in you...
