Re: Terrified

If you haven't already done so, tell them a close relative has cancer. This might facilitate at least a colonoscopy. Good luck, and I hope it is just hypochondria. :)

Re: CT Scan said, "colon consistent with cancer"

Hi Ken, this is what I got within 6 months of dx: two extraordinarily painful blockages, and I would not have survived without surgery. Since then, bile ducts restricted, causing jaundice. An abscess at the entrance of my hole, that when the doctor lanced it, it was the closest to torture that I hav...

Re: Stage IV Rectal Cancer being treated with Keytruda

Update: had my CT this morning; doctor just called with results: all tumors show significant regression, and he is going to reconvene the surgical board to reevaluate me for surgery. They are generally ecstatic either way. So am I. And my wife! I’ll admit, I cried after hearing this. Thanks so much...

Re: Immunotherapy

By the way, a message to Big Rob (and others with tricky inoperable liver mets), I had SBRT (cyber knife) radiotherapy on one of my liver mets 4 weeks ago. The first follow up scans show 50% shrinkage in that site but, quite interesting, a distantly located met in my peritoneum under my left ribs h...

Re: MEDI4736 CLINICAL TRIAL (KEYTRUDA)

Update: Haven't received KEYTRUDA in over six weeks due to this throat infection, but onc says this is the KEYTRUDA working. CEA still down at 32.6, but bodyweight also down to 153 lbs. The good news is that the tumor has shrunk to 7.1×7.0, from 9.6×7.9, and my onc is scambling to aggressively use o...

Re: Sexual implications of colon resection--can we talk?

Before all this cancer crap, I was a stud. All my life I've had a high libido. Butt it is very difficult making love with two tubes sticking out of my belly, wondering if I'm gonna pass some chemo-disease to my partner in the fluid transfer, all the while hoping I don't have to run to the bathroom.....

Re: Things people say or don't say but it's okay

Not to mention that we're just talking about cancer here. What about the shitload of other diseases we have, or all the environmental factors we face on a daily. If you have to change your clothes, change ALL your clothes. You can change 99% of your life, but if you shower in the same place...

Re: Things Not to Say and the Responses I want to Make (Rant)

Came up with this one today:

Dude: Heard "X" will cure cancer.
Me: Yeah, how much? What's the dosage? What kind? How many times a week? The green or the yellow one? Do I eat it or shove it up my ass?

They got the point.

Re: MEDI4736 CLINICAL TRIAL

Update KEYTRUDA round 8. CEA 32.1 BODYWEIGHT 166 BILIRUBIN 1.2 So I got a throat infection that pushed my treatment back a week. The meds they gave me for it knocked me out...they made me feel depressed, sicker, and I don't think I can finish taking all of them. I'll ask on Friday when I go back. Lo...
