Re: hospice

I'm very sorry to hear this. There are no words that help; only know that I wish you both peace and that you are in my prayers.

Re: Better news, Neuropathy & questions

That info is very helpful Benben. I'll relay the gutamine and D3 to my son. Right now the only thing he takes is a basic multivitamin/mineral tablet 2x day with the onco's OK to help his anemia. Looking at your signature, it's quite similar to my son's only a year earlier. I'm not clear on what KRAS...

Re: Better news, Neuropathy & questions

Spot on Liver/Hemangioma: I also had a spot on my liver that they wanted to "watch" it was really hard to wait through chemo/radiation to see if the spot changed so that they could rule out a met - turned out to be a hemangioma (no idea how to spell that right). Basically, they're watchin...

Re: Better news, Neuropathy & questions

My neuropathy continued to progress after treatment and now that I am more than three years out I assume it is permanent. But I also remain NED more than three years out, so at this point I have no regrets. It is (for me) definitely the lesser of two evils. I think my situation is not really the no...

Re: Better news, Neuropathy & questions

My neuropathy didn't really kick in until about a month after finishing chemo 2 years ago. It has improved as I don't drop things, my balance is better, and it is basically just tingling on the bottom of my feet. It doesn't prevent me from doing anything more annoying than anything. I usually alway...

Re: What should I expect for port placement???

Hi KatDaz, First, I wish you all the best for your port placement. weisssoccermom wrote some good advice. My late husband had lung CA and his port was placed on the right side; my son's port is on the left. Both had conscious sedation for the procedure. No problems other than muscle soreness for a f...

Re: Is the day that cheno treatment ...

My son had his 8th FOLFOX infusion yesterday...4 more to go. He wears the pump for 46 hrs afterwards. In the early weeks, he felt better once the pump came off. Now as he is more into the regimen, his window of feeling pretty good is getting narrower. He has fatigue and some nausea into the middle o...

Thank you Benben & Orlar for your replies. I'm hoping my son's neuropathy will decrease once chemo is done and disappear completely eventually.

Better news, Neuropathy & questions

Hello all, I wrote earlier this week about my son getting chemo for Stg. IIIA, colon cancer and some new liver spots found on a MRI. One of the spots the rad thinks is another hemangioma and the other one they weren't quite sure. So a PET scan was ordered and nothing lit up. I take that to be good n...

Re: New here My son has colon cancer

Liver abnormalities found on a CT scan can be justification to the insurance co for a liver MRI, which apparently gives a much clearer look at what's there. Lots of people have benign liver spots, according to my CR surgeon, who specializes in liver surgery. Thank you boxhill; I will pass this info...
