Re: IMMUNOTHERAPY

The only important test right now for you is msi-high vs mss status as only that would alter course of treatment from chemo to possibly immunotherapy from a very good lab. Other test is not really that useful but if u can comfortably afford it , no harm. My oncologist said it was a waste of resource...

Re: MSI-H with liver met, in search of help

Hello friend Your case is almost same as mine. After surgeries and chemos , I am currently on Opdivo. My advise: Start immunotherapy at the earliest. Do not waste time and body strength on anything else. Most important : do not get any surgery once you start immunotherapy. Start aspirin too along wi...

Re: The things people say to cancer patients

Here are a few basic need-to-knows about cancer: first, it’s NEVER fine. It is insidious, and a cancer diagnosis stays with you for life. Yes, you celebrate milestones of getting past it at its various stages, but the fear of recurrence is always with you; every second of every minute of every day....

Re: Genetic Testing?

GINA only protects against discrimination in health insurance and employment and that’s all, it does not protect against discrimination for life insurance. This was explained to me by my oncologist as well and there are a ton of articles about it you can find on the Internet. I already had a life i...

Re: Keytruda? What else is new?

Fatigue is the most persistent. It started out as just standard fatigue, but has since progressed to what can only be described as narcoleptic. The last two weeks I have seen a large increase in bleeding during loose bowel movements, which have become frequent enough to keep me from sleeping. I was...

Re: Some good, non-cancer related news

I totally agree. We should not expect special treatment from world because of being a cancer patient or survivor. If anything, we are likely to be considered a handicap by most hard nosed ppl. So we have to reset our own expectation level accordingly. We have or are undergoing the learning experienc...

Re: Taste Change Advice

I had a really bad episode of nausea and taste change during xeloda chemo. There were huge episodes before each meal . I would throw tantrums like a baby. My wife actually had to call my friend over to convince me to eat something. Some of things that worked: Boiled rice with yogurt with mild sauces...
