Re: Burning abdo muscles

Thanks Ozziej, I'm 4 months out, back at work 2 days a week and swept the floors the day before yesterday which I think caused it. Dr says could take up to a year to fully heal. I also had incisional infection and dehiscence so behind the 8 ball in healing. I just wish I was back to my old self and ...

Re: Husband in recovery room

Even though I had temp ileostomy I look upon it as saving my life and allowing the join to heal. I focused on cancer being gone after surgery too. I also had open. It tool a while for me to get back on feet so tell your DH to be patient and not try and overdo things.

Burning abdo muscles

Had my ULAR on 25.6.15 and temp ileostomy. On mop up chemo now. Problem is I suffer from really bad muscle burn above stoma across from belly button. When I do too much the muscle burns. Also had umbilical hernia repaired at time of op. Anyone get this and how long does it last. I'm frustrated by it...

Re: Metamucil diarrhea and ileostomy

Hi Ozziej I've only done one round of mop up and begin round 2 next Wednesday. Not sure why I'm having such a hard time with Xeloda this time as I don't remembered it being this hard before. I have to do 6 rounds in total. Re your reversal 6 BMs at 4 months is still good. The sciatica is coming from...

Re: Surgery Scheduled

Best of luck with your surgery. I had mine on the 25.6.15. My tumor was low 5.5cm in and I have temporary ileostomy. Chemo/radio shrank tumor from 2a stage to stage 1. Only isolated cells and no macroscopic invasion of bowel muscle. Good luck and keep us posted. :)

Re: Please share LAR w/ ileostomy recovery experiences

Hi I had LAR on 25.6.15 with temp loop ileostomy. Now undergoing mop up chemo. My recovery from the op was slow. I had an incisional infection which opened the incision up. It was a long hard road back but did it with a combination of gentle walking, rest and nutrition. As far as ileostomy goes I wa...

Re: Open LAR procedure recovery

Oh Judy it's dreadful isn't it. Sorry to hear the stoma issues are still somewhat there. One good thing, once the wound starts to get the idea to granulate it's wonderful to see the healing. We just need to rest, rest, rest I think in order to heal. x

Re: Upcoming Ultralow Anterior Resection

Hi Ozziej thought I'd let you know I decided to have mop up chemo. Onc left it up to me so I went with the 5% decrease in reoccurrence it will give me should it ever reoccur which I pray it won't. So 6 rounds over 4.5 months then reversal. I'm into second last tick box. Yay. Ps we looked at my clini...

Re: Open LAR procedure recovery

Judy I had this surgery 11 weeks ago and feel just like you. My muscles burn and pain and I'm restricted in what I can do. I also had the wound open up which slows recovery. Just when I thought I was getting better, I get a set back. It's so frustrating. Started Xeloda this week so even more tired. ...
