Re: CT & the waiting game

Thank you so-scared! I got good news, my oncologist called and the results are great, the spot is just a hemangioma! And they could not see any of my tumor, so it appears the chemo/radiation did its job and shrunk that thing down.

Re: Garden Dreaming

Wow, these are some amazing pictures! I wish I had the space and time/will-power to create something like that. The best I do is fresh herbs, I have pots all over my deck with basil, oregano, sage, rosemary and thyme. We're having a nice day today, about 60 degrees and sunny, since I was feeling a l...

CT & the waiting game

Ok, I've got scanxiety. I posted before that I finished my 5.5 weeks of xeloda & radiation last week and now waiting for surgery. When I originally had my MRI & CT's in Novemver, there was a spot on my liver, the radiologist said it was too small to determine but most likely a hemanigoma (sp...

Re: Chemo/Rad Done! Surgery Scheduled!

Thank you everyone! I am hoping that my symptoms don't get too bad in the next 2 days. We're supposed to be going on a ski trip to Heavenly in Lake Tahoe on Thursday. We ski a lot during the winter, but we've only gotten out twice this year because of all my appointments. Luckly, I've been fairly st...

Chemo/Rad Done! Surgery Scheduled!

Hello everyone,

I've only posted on here a couple of times, but I wanted to share. I just finished my 5.5 weeks of chemo (Xeloda) & radiation today! I am so glad to be done! Just scheduled my surgery for 3/12.

Thanks to everyone on this forum for your support & advice.

Re: Another Newbie...Surgery & Chemo Questions

Hello Bellavida - so sorry to hear about your situation, but I think we are very close in our situations, age, placement of tumor & the diagnosis time. I've got 7 more chemo/radiation treatments to go before my break before surgery. I can't wait. I thought the burning pain was dryness of the are...

Re: Another Newbie...Surgery & Chemo Questions

Wow, thank you all so much! I'm feeling a little better and thinking maybe I can get through this. Yes, the tumor is right on the border of the rectum/colon. I have a fairly flexible job as far as the kinds of work I do, so much of my work can be done from home and my boss is very supportive. I supp...

Re: Another Newbie...Surgery & Chemo Questions

Hello again all - thank you again for all your help, comments, suggestions & support. I really appreciate it. Yes, my surgeon is a board certified colo-rectal surgeon, he and his son are in practice together and this is pretty much all they do. They will be doing the surgery together. I guess th...

Re: Another Newbie...Surgery & Chemo Questions

Thank you so much everyone, I really appreciate it! I just feel so overwhelmed. Physically, I've been feeling good so far until this hemmoroid issue flared up over the weekend and I think I've hit my wall with the pain. My radiation doc did prescribe Norco today so I'm hopeful it will take the edge ...

Another Newbie...Surgery & Chemo Questions

Hello everyone, I've been lurking & reading here for a month or so. I was diagnosed with rectal cancer in November at 40 years old. The tumor is at the top of the rectum and has probably spread to at least one lymph node (best they can tell from MRI) so they're assuming stage III, but I can't ge...
