Re: Health Insurance

I just went to BCBSNC website. I called a while ago to get a quote for him and they said that based on our income we wouldn't qualify for any discounts. I filled everything out online and made the first payment for his policy in about 15 minutes or so. I picked a plan with a really wide network and ...

Re: Health Insurance

Haven't tried the government site. I was able to sign Eric up with Blue Cross Blue Shield online in about 15 minutes. We don't qualify for the subsidies so I just went with one of their plans that is similar to the one I already have with them. Honestly, I know Obamacare is a complete mess and I'm n...

Eric is still taking it and I think he probably will for another couple of years. We figure - why not take it if it may help.

Re: Rolling the Dice

It warms my heart to read this news! Congratulations to you both!!! I've been off the board for a while because Eric and I have been going through a couple of IVF cycles. Hasn't worked yet but we are still trying and we met with an adoption agency, too.

What happy, happy news!!! :D :D

Re: Bowel Surgery and Male Fertility

Hi Nak. Hope your husband and you are doing well! My husband also banked sperm prior to treatment. His counts were really bad at the time which is normal when you have cancer from what I've been told. Anyway, we tested him about 9 months ago and fertility had still not returned. Could be the surgery...

Re: On surgeon's advice, going to try the - gulp - daily ene

Eric has been doing a daily enema for months now and it has been really good for him. He does it every night and then for the most part, doesn't have to go again until the next night. We get disposable bags from amazon. He has to visit clients almost daily for his job and it was turning into a night...

Re: Is this normal?

This is normal. Eric had this happen. Basically, the colon is still shedding cells. Also, when you have a temporary ileostomy, it is usually a loop ileostomy. Everything is still connected, just diverting. Basically, some stuff can still manage to get through. It did lessen over time for Eric. I rem...

Re: Fissure or Hemorrhoids?

Eric always said it felt like he was pooping glass when he had his fissures. His were pretty bad. Like Ski said, stool softeners and baby wipes are a huge help. If it gets too uncomfortable, the sitz bath always helped too. Hope they go away quickly!
