I agree with CRguy, if you're having a lot of stomach pain you need to see a doctor ASAP.

Re: Angie's update

Wow Angie! What an ordeal :( I remember absolutely freaking myself out when my GI doc came up to consult with my surgeon just as mom and I were about to get my CT scan results just after I was diagnosed (the ones that would tell us whether it was likely that the cancer had spread or not)... but at l...

Re: I think my PCP may have saved my life

I too have a story similar to this, I was having some symptoms (bleeding and change in bowel habits), I was too embarrassed to go see my family doctor, but the symptoms were getting in the way of training for my first 1/2 marathon... so I finally worked up the courage to at least corner my aunt (who...

Re: OT: Something we all need to remember...

Tammy and Canadianmom, I'd love to share a coffee (okay so despite having worked at a Tim Horton's until going back to school, I don't drink the stuff ;) but I'd have hot chocolate) with both of you, maybe someday. Canadianmom, Thank you so much for your kind words :) My family tends to tell me the ...

OT: Something we all need to remember...

Hi all, A friend shared this on Facebook. Don't know where it came from originally, but I've found that this is so true. We sometimes can forget when life gets hectic and we could all use a reminder from time to time, so here you go :) The Mayonnaise Jar When things in your life seem almost too much...

Re: How many of us are there?

I mostly check in daily, although this can vary depending on how much I've got going on with school and medical appointments. Don't post all the time, but I read a lot.

Re: First colonoscopy at 24 & nervous

You're not over-reacting with being scared/nervous. I had no family history and I was still very nervous.... I think that's to be expected. From what I've heard of the prep (we have a different prep up here in Canada thankfully) it won't be fun, but that should be the worst of it. For myself the col...

Re: Scope this week

I have to agree with all the advice to scale back food for better chances of a proper clean out. I just do the flexible sigmoidoscopy, since almost all of my colon was removed when they went in to take the cancer out (hundreds of polyps throughout so it was the only option). So my prep is different....

Re: Recent happenings BY CANUCKS !

- it takes awhile for people to read what it says. Thanks for starting this thread, I have learned a few things already. I heard it was intended to look like an ECG tracing to kind of catch people off guard at first ! Yeah, I think we can shake some cobwebs out of some bureaucrat's heads if we all ...

Re: Back from scope...

Yep mine was definitely better, which I'm really glad for, because for a couple of months starting about 4 months after surgery I was doing them every 6 weeks, then we moved up to 3 months between the last few, and now 6 months. So needless to say I've had a few. They're not the most pleasant thing ...
