Re: Lung Abnormality/Nodule?

Little lung nodules appear in the majority of the general population, and the vast majority of them are nothing to worry about. Left over from an infection or whatever. I have one. They took a look at it a couple times, decided it was nothing, and haven't looked since. If you want to worry about som...

Re: Colon cancer concern

Try to wait for the colonoscopy before diagnosing yourself. :) We all know that sometimes it is easier said than done. It's good that you are having the scope, and let's hope the news is good.

Re: 3rd covid vaccine

I've been trying to fit the Shingritz vaccine in for several years! First it was chemo, then it was immunotherapy, then it was covid. I suppose I could do it now, but given that this is an inconvenient time to feel lousy, I may wait until January.

Re: Question about single polyp with symptoms

Not a doctor, but it seems unlikely that all of those symptoms could be caused by a single polyp!

I think the NP's advice to see a primary care doctor or the like after sorting out the polyp seems sound.

Good luck with this. It sounds as if you've been having an unpleasant time.

Re: 3rd covid vaccine

I am over 65, so I just made an appointment at Walgreens and had the Pfizer booster--that was my original vaccination--and flu shot at the same time. A few hours after I signed up, actually. I believe that the screening questions would probably allow an under-65 person with colon cancer to get the b...

Re: Incision pain 12 days after surgery

If you are doing Folfox, I would consider eliminating oxaliplatin from the last three rounds in order to reduce your chances of having neuropathy.

Re: Port Out...for now

August/21 MRI results: still NED. Next one in December. Interestingly, I just realized that I could now read all of my visit notes, and discovered that from the first visit until now my oncologist's notes said Prognosis: Guarded, Treatment Plan: Palliative. I'm glad I didn't see it back then! :shock...

Re: People

In New England there is tons of housing that was built by individuals on a piece of land at some point in the last 200 years or so, not by developers in a subdivision. I recommend Maine. I don't think anyone around here would tattle on you for having a woodpile. They probably have one themselves! 8)

Re: Stage 4 Rectal Cancer 45yo Wonderful Woman

I'm happy to hear that she's responding to chemo and not having too much trouble with side effects. It is also good to hear that her medical team is being aggressive in modifying her chemo, not just sitting back and relying on FOLFOX alone. The fact that THEY brought up going back to the tumor board...

It doesn't sound to me as if your father is a good candidate for Avastin, given that it increases blood clots.

Saltygirl, you don't need to leave the USA, you just need to live in a place without an HOA. I shudder at the thought of living in one of those developments. :D

Re: I was in the hospital

You poor thing, that sounds like quite an ordeal! Very glad to hear that you are fully vaccinated, although the timing could have been better, I'm sure. It sounds like it helps to eat low residue foods, avoid anything that dehydrates or constricts blood vessels, and take a lot of fluids. But I'm sur...
