Re: Occurence of CRC after negative colonoscopy

Presumably, if he farts THAT much, he’s likely to blow any polyps that weren’t there 6mths ago, away anyway.

The above is in jest obviously. Unless the specialist performed his colonoscopy with his eyes closed, I think he’s safe. Maybe tell him to lay off the beans/fiber/fizzy drinks.

Re: Feel I need to give up before starting

CRGuy and O Stoma Mia make good points, as always. The thing that stuck out to me is that you said you had a CT last week but won’t get the results til appointment in a couple weeks. I would have thought if there was anything alarming then they would have called you in, so keep that in mind. You can...

Re: Port Removal

Thanks crew. Unfortunately, I think they f@&#ed things up. I am more than 3 weeks out and still don’t have the same range of movement/ strength in right arm and to top things off, the wound has barely healed at all. I did everything they said and normally heal pretty quickly so am very disappoin...

Re: Back in the fight

Very sorry to hear mate. One of my friends is a few months ahead of you and if it’s any consolation he said the chemo is very tolerable.

Rest up, heal, and get stuck into zapping/poisoning the bastard!

Re: Port Removal

Thanks guys. Back on the couch watching ‘Suits’, sans port  Took FOREVER to get into theatre and then my little friend had made himself well and truly at home and was a pesky little bugger to get out. Lots of scar tissue holding him in. No sedation of any kind, and needed two lots of local ane...

Port Removal

This time in 6 hours I’ll no longer be part bionic man. Hopefully they’ll (a) Sedate me (who doesn’t like a good propofol nap); and (b) let me take my Port home. Have been so looking forward to this day, although obviously it’s not without some anxiety (what if it comes back and I have to have it ou...

G’day, Sorry you had to join our club butt you’re in the right place. I’m your blood they’re probably looking at mainly your CEA which is a cancer marker. It’s a good measure for some people, and a useless measure for others. Only time will tell for you. It doesn’t help with stage by itself though. ...

Re: Freaked out.

I feel your pain Fish, I have pain in my hip at the moment and my first thoughts are Mets. I think it’s the nature of the beast. I’d go and see your GP first and get them to have a good feel around. If it comes and goes my bet is it isn’t a met. If they do find something then they can refer you on t...
