Re: Rectal Cancer: Habr-Gama Watch and Wait Strategy to Avoid Surgery

The few I had was done in the doctors office, outpatient and probably took 10 minutes. No sedation, mine was done in front of a crowd.

Re: Bad News

I think her KRAS mutation might rule out Keytruda for us, but I'll ask. Thank you. Kras doesn’t rule out Keytruda, however it is usually not recommended for MSS. There is a thread on here that tells of a MSS patient getting Keytruda due to her high tumour mutuational burden. If you check your mom’s...

Re: My CRC with liver mets journey

Sounds like you’re in good hands, I had 2 planned liver resections due to multiple mets, they took about 30% the first time and around 70% the second spaced about 4 months apart. The recoveries weren’t crazy hard, sore and tired, I was fully open and not having a core was hard, wear a support brace!...

Re: Is a ileostomy reversal worth it for a 60 year old guy?

Hi Steve, Your question is very valid. It's a tough one. I can only give my opinion based on my personal experience. I had a ULAR at age 56, losing all of my rectum and sigmoid colon. I was reversed 12 weeks after the resection. I now have major LARS. It's manageable but, like you, so was my tempor...

Re: Keytruda

The drs will monitor you each time for pneumonitis, colitis, blood tests for your thyroid, probably a few more too. :) Thank you! Which Facebook page? I was on Colon Cancer support, but there really isn’t a whole lot of “support”, a lot of questions, no answers, and too many people researching the ...

Re: Another NED question: PUMP v. NO PUMP?

Every disease is different, and people respond in various ways. If it helps you mentally at a minimum, do it.

People really talk like this? “Objecting” to words?

Re: Scanxiety is real!

Yes it is! It’s taken me a couple of years and dozens of scans but I feel better about them now. It was a process for me, there are only two results, NED or complete loss of control. The idea behind it is either I’m happy, or it doesn’t matter, anything in between I’ve handled (and you have handled)...

Re: Keytruda....Working for MSS....Mutation Burden is the Key

Keytruda side effects? At least the ones you saw? Sorry! I just saw your post. The only side effects I have had vary each treatment that I have. (I have had 12 treatments so far) and some treatment cycles I noticed nothing! Other treatment cycles I had some pretty bad fatigue (I work 40+ hours a we...

Re: Stage 3/4 Colon Cancer

Thank you all for the responses! Correction to my post above, I meant "now" rather than "not" when mentioning waiting on biopsy results. Anyhow, new update is surgery went very well. Mom had full colon tumor resection done, and 22 lymph nodes, only 1 of 22 is cancerous it appear...

Re: Possible Third Diagnoses

I think maybe you’re looking at it wrong, your title and how your structured your questions are completely different than how I look at it. It’s a lifelong disease, there was one diagnosis and you just haven’t kicked it yet, but you will. I find it’s too much emotion to think I’m cured every time I ...

My liver had 13 tumors, it’s been clear for about 2 years, no pump.

Re: Keytruda

I’m MSI h as well. I have been on Keytruda since September 2017. The side effects (if you don’t have a major reaction) are quite minimal. I was able to go back to work 3 days a week as a teacher. I was completely unable to work while on chemo. In my experience there is absolutely no comparison in t...
