Re: Incision pain one post op Transverse Colectomy Stage 1

I had all kinds of random pains for a long time after my op. Sounds like you're keeping your nurse well-informed and they're not too concerned. As long as you keep doing that, I'm sure you'll be fine and the pains will gradually diminish. 4 weeks out is not long, it's big stuff for the body to recov...

Re: For Stage III's: NED for how long now?

I've read every post in this thread at least once. Thanks heaps to all of you for sharing, and congratulations on the good health - long may it remain! I also finish chemo in 10 days... not that I am counting ;). Scanxiety pretty high but I'm looking forward to chiming in with my NED status over the...

Re: Hello from New Zealand :)

@Val*pal - Glad you enjoyed it! I remember when I first was diagnosed I would trawl the net for hours looking for someone who had the same story as me, with a good outcome. So I figure it's worth the rant just in case someone finds it useful :). You're right about being open to other treatments - I ...

Re: HYDRATE

Good post! I carry a 1L bottle of water literally everywhere I go haha. Since it's relevant to the topic: My second chemo hospitalisation was due to severe dehydration (spent about 4 days getting "watered" before release). Mine was due to loose movements, and the fixer (along with 4L water...

Re: Hello from New Zealand :)

Hi Jamin: Sounds like you have been through the ringer. Glad you have been able to take it all in stride for the most part and not get too far ahead of yourself. Like I tell most people....one step...one brick...one stone....one mile....one day at a time. I'm finishing up my 12 rounds of FOLFOX nex...

Re: Introduction

Hey bro, hello from across the ditch, I'm a new member too, and I see we share some things in common with our cases (age, active lifestyle, kids, league fan etc). Sorry to read of your battle but glad for your positive mindset and wish you all the best :). What RL club do you support? I'm a die-hard...

Re: Hello from New Zealand :)

HI Jamin, Been there done that too. ;) I'm Cherie and live in Rotorua. I find this is a great board form information especially checking to see if the NZ docs are up with the rest of the world in terms of treatment and drug availability. I have had to fight and pay for some drugs that are standard ...

Re: Hello from New Zealand :)

@Vicki - I think I lurked for so long because I found it hard to actually immerse myself in a forum relating to cancer. I have not been in denial, but starting to talk with other people going through the same thing makes it so much more "real". But it IS real, so I just have to deal with i...

Hello

Hi all, I've been lurking these boards for months so I figured it's time I said hello and shared my story thus far. I had been in the best shape of my life until early 2013, when I started having mysterious sicknesses and symptoms. Slowly my strength dipped until early October when I passed large am...
