Re: How long after surgery did you start mop up chemo?

I didn’t do chemo for colon cancer but I did for ovarian . I started chemo 6 weeks after surgery. Chemo interferes with the healing process so you have to wait until you are fairly healed. 6-8 weeks seems standard.

Re: Fear I might have crc

Every one of us has a unique experience with cancer. As we are not doctors, we cannot speculate on your situation.

Only a colonoscopy will tell for sure if anything is wrong with you. Good luck.

Re: Please help, need some advice, very nervous!

Thank you so much! He was treated at Bangkok Hospital in Chang Mai. They treated him very well and the facility was beautiful. I know i should not be jumping to conclusions before knowing all the facts but I am just so nervous. I know for sure the doctor should not have scared him like that though....

Re: Please help, need some advice, very nervous!

I was living in Thailand when I was diagnosed. Colon cancer is quite rare in the Asian population and they really don’t know how to deal with it. Especially if he is seeing a doctor outside of the private hospitals that are frequented by expats. Bumrungrad in Bangkok is state of the art, as well as ...

Re: Advice please

Thank you. Hopefully the colonoscopy is soon. So anxious its bowel cancer. Also, the ultrasound i had said this in the comments: the liver is examined intercostally therefore limited exclusion value. Normal appearances of the liver, no ihdd or focal liver lesions seen. Does anybody know what limite...

Re: Discharged with abnormal ECG

I’m a cardiac nurse. An abnormal ecg doesn’t necessarily mean there is a problem. Depending on the heart condition, some people will never have a normal ecg. An ecg is a tool to monitor heart health but it isn’t the end all be all. The patients actual symptoms and condition should be considered. Als...

Re: Just can't let it go

Perhaps you should talk to somebody about your anxiety. Lay off google. It’s a bit rude coming to a board of cancer patients being so upset about a benign polyp. Every one of us would gladly trade places with you. I don’t mind questions from people who don’t have cancer and I would always encourage ...

Re: Just can't let it go

You got good news. Every one of us who has been diagnosed with cancer would be very thankful to be in your shoes. I don’t know what else you expected but from what you are describing, that is an appropriate pathology report.

Re: Genetic test results

I have lynch and did not have a choice on ovaries as I got ovarian cancer. I went into menopause at 33. I would advise keeping your ovaries. A lot of doctors are not supportive of hormone replacement in cancer patients. And menopause blows. It took me 7 years to get adequtw treatment for the menopau...

Re: My father's ashamed of me

I have been both a patient and a caregiver. Being a caregiver was by far the harder role. It is so hard to see someone you love suffer and not be able to do anything about it. Your father is probably terrified of losing you. Parents act in ridiculous ways when their kids are hurting. Even though he ...
