Re: Alternative medicine

Thanks Jan, I will continue doing research. Makes sense about the milk thistle for detox. Can anyone suggest a good brand of milk thistle? I can understand that part of my Drs. concern. I might have gotten confused with the D3 and milk thistle, he might have been doubting the milk thistle and just b...

Re: Alternative medicine

I started my chemo yesterday and asked the Dr. about adding D3 and milk thistle and they discouraged it, making a valid point that these substances are not regulated and could do more harm than good. So for I will continue with the regiment of 12 sessions of FolFox. I love my Mom and I know she has ...

Re: Alternative medicine

Thanks Jan, I think I will take the Vit D3, cimetidine and milk thistle as a supplement to my chemo. Two treatments are better than one :). As for the diet I pretty much already eat that way. I'm not against alt meds it's just that I've seen my Mom do all the weird fade things for all her different ...

Re: Alternative medicine

As I told her today that I felt it would be ok in the very beginning or as a add on to Chemo. She wants me to go pure Altmed and completely skip the chemo. As to the new molecular and immune related studies I feel this is probably the way cancer treatment may go. She wants me to eat pineapple core a...

Re: Alternative medicine

That's what I've been telling her. Chemo is tried and true and I'm still young with kids who are not quite established yet and I'm not taking chances. In no means am I going to change my course of action. I guess I want to give her the facts.

Alternative medicine

Has any one tried or knows any one who has tried a natural alternative to cure their cancer? My Mom is very upset with me for going the FolFox route and keeps telling me that there are other ways the are natural. Personally I'm happy with my choice but would be interested to know if any one has had ...

Re: Starting Chemo any suggestions

Yes I'm getting FolFox. So I will go buy several pairs of gloves. I was told to get a scarf because of the reaction to the cold. Actually I'm not to anxious ....I just want to get this party started :).

Starting Chemo any suggestions

Hi I start Chemo Tuesday and am wondering if anyone has suggestions on what to bring, helpful hints or anything that will make this a little more pleasurable? I'm not really nervous I just like being prepared. So any info would help.
Thanks
