Vectibix question

Been on Vectibex for three months now. Scans after 2 months showed shrinkage in all my liver mets. Plans to go 3 more months and then re-scan. CEAs down to 33 from a previous high in the 300s. My rash seems to be getting better and this worries me. Hopefully it is the meds and not a sign that the ve...

Re: Don't wait, get yourself checked out !!

Raleigh, That is good advice, but most people don't think it would happen to them. Mine was discovered at age 42. Cancer did not run in my family, but heart issues did. Never in a thousand years did I think I would have cancer, but here I am today with Stage IV. I sometimes look back and wish it wou...

Re: Several Questions

Just got home from Duke. For the first time since I began treatment, I have shrinkage in my liver lesions!!! The biggest ones are smaller than when I was first diagnosed and some of the smaller ones were very hard to see on the scans. Praise the Lord!!! My onc is keeping my on the panitumumab for th...

Re: Several Questions

Thanks. I don't have tingling with my feet. I have more numbness and a problem with heat. From what I read, it seems more like hand/foot, but my onc NP disagrees. I remember tingling from the oxaliplatin and this is different. Anyway, hopefully these scans will show some improvement. Still hoping fo...

Several Questions

My name is Richard. I joined the site shortly after receiving "the news" in Oct 2013. I found out I was Stage IV with a tumor in my cecum and numerous mets on my liver (both sides). I am 43. Since Dec.13 I have received 6 rounds of chemo, (oxaliplatin, avastin, and Xeloda). I came off due ...

Re: December 2013 Exercise Thread

I was just diagnosed about six week ago. Colon/liver. I began treatments last week and I have a port. I was a serious lifter for the last 7 years. Can i still lift? I am afraid to overdo it with this port in my chest (right side). Would love to get back into the gym and push some weight around. Woul...

Re: Stage IV diagnosis- Oct 30, 2013

Hi Richard. Welcome. What is their long term plan? So they are giving you chemo and then are they going to remove the colon tumor and try a liver resection? How many tumors in the liver? I guess the long-term plan depends on how I respond to chemo. I do not know specifically how many tumors are on ...

Re: Stage IV diagnosis- Oct 30, 2013

I am doing the FOLFOX regimen. I got the "Ben" word (its not Benadryl) from some notes the doctors scribbled for me. I know that I am taking two IV chemo drugs once every three weeks and the oral pills (8/day) for two weeks on and one week off. As of right now, my liver cannot take surgery...

Stage IV diagnosis- Oct 30, 2013

Hello everyone, I stumbled across the message board the other day. I am a 42 year old high school assistant principal that was recently diagnosed with colon cancer that has spread to my liver. I was scheduled for surgery when the colon tumor was found but once the liver was discovered, that surgery ...
