Re: and now my DOG? SERIOUSLY?!?!

Sorry Starbuck. No downplaying it either! I got a dog just about a week before my diagnosis, and he has been such a source of comfort. After my surgery, I couldn't wait until I was able to walk him again, and I have only had him for a month! I cannot imagine what you are going through having your do...

Re: The Weird Things People say.....

When I went for my first MRI, I was really nervous just because I wasn't sure what to expect. The nurse was asking me questions, and she got to the part where she asks what I'm there for .. (which I never understand .. can't they see it on the chart? lol) So I tell her that they found a tumor in my ...

Re: 27 Year old recently diagnosed

Hey guys !! To answer a couple of questions that were asked .. Before surgery, my oncologist had believed I was a little more advanced than what my pathology showed. When he did surgery, he said my fallopian tube on the left, and the left ovary looked suspicious (in exact words "funky" lol...

Re: 27 Year old recently diagnosed

Thanks again guys. I am recovering very well. It was tough in the beginning, but a week post-op and it was smooth sailing from there for me. :) I have been transferred to a wonderful hospital here in Toronto, Sunnybrook to be exact, where my surgical oncologist says they will "keep a close eye&...

Re: 27 Year old recently diagnosed

You guys are so awesome :) I'm so sorry for my last message. I felt like this was the only place I could go where people would understand. I woke up from surgery and I was so out of it when I wrote my last message - I hardly even remember writing it. I just remember being really angry and sad. I don...

Re: 27 Year old recently diagnosed

Hey everyone So I had my surgery done laproscopically on thursday morning. Friday morning my mom told me he also removed an ovary and a Fallopian tube and a bit of stomache lining. His answer as to why is because it "looked funky". What the hell does funky mean? And why is it so hard to ge...

Re: 27 Year old recently diagnosed

Hey everyone, The surgeon I am seeing is a very well respected colon cancer oncologist. I spoke with his secretary yesterday and she informed me that he has scheduled the surgery outside of his agenda. It will take place this Thursday in the evening. He is going to attempt to do it laproscopically (...

Re: 27 Year old recently diagnosed

Thank you guys. To each of you who suggested a second opinion, this was actually it. The first opinion was to remove about half of the colon. Then when I saw this oncologist, well .. you know how that went. I actually feel MUCH better mentally/emotionally than I did a couple days ago. Coming to term...

Re: 27 Year old recently diagnosed

Well the morning has arrived. I will know the results of the CT scan in only a couple hours. Somehow, I'm not freaking out as much as I was yesterday - though I have been thinking the whole morning that maybe, just maybe it has somehow all been a mistake ... thinking, "He could say there was a ...

27 Year old recently diagnosed

Hello all, As the title says, I am a 27 year old female who has just recently been diagnosed with Colon Cancer. After going through about 2 years of bloody stool, alternating diarhea and constipation, and 2 doctors allowing me to believe it was no big deal (even though I had informed them of my fami...
