Re: Folfiri A Second Time

Thank you for your words of wisdom. Definitely looking into Celebrex with this Folfiri+Avastin regimen this time. Just now started becoming invested in supplements to help aid my DH. Wish I would have known all I know about supplement use that may have aided my husband when he was just in maintenanc...

Folfiri A Second Time

Recently, my DH had the therasphere procedure on his liver and it seems it did not provide any help. My husband is currently in Lonsurf but his oncologist wanted to put him on a more aggressive chemo - Folfiri w/Avastin. He has already had this type of chemo in the past so I wanted advice from peopl...

Re: Adenocarcinoma PT3,PN2

Hello, my husband was diagnosed at 31 years of age with adenocarcinoma in the small bowel. From my signature, we have run the gamut of chemotherapies. He was actually NED after folfiri chemotherapy (5fu and iritican). He has never had the cancer return to his colon and has had the most complications...

Re: Worried -genetic results are in. KRAS MSS

My husband is KRAS, MSS with condone 12/13 mutation. He is still alive and kicking but going through a rough spot right now. He has been on almost every chemo with the greatest success on Folfiri+Avastin. He stayed on maintenance 5fu and Avastin for over 2 years before a pesky spot showed up in his ...

Re: How To Deal With DH Family

Just an update- my DH and I sat down and talked about boundaries and how we would like our families to help out. We got to test our boundaries out sooner than we thought as my husband is in the hospital with blood clots. Upon hearing the news, his mom instantly jumped on the road on the way up. Inst...

Re: How To Deal With DH Family

Great advice, I think it just boils down to having a Frank and honest conversation. Will not be easy but if I can bring my husband some peace and comfort, I will have to be honest with his family.

How To Deal With DH Family

It has been some years since I posted and I am desperate for advice. My husband, after Mets returned to liver, was deteriorating pretty quickly. He was in quite a bit of pain, the first time he has ever felt cancer pain since his diagnosis. We finally got his pain under control and have moved forwar...

Re: Husband Recently Diagnosed Stage IV-Looking for hope, also questions about Raltitrexid

My husband is Stage IV, was diagnosed in 2014 and we are still fighting. Right now, he is technically NED but has maintenance chemo every 2 weeks due to his cancer mutation. Only God knows when he will no longer be on the earth so we enjoy our life to the best of our ability!

Husband is feeling down...

More often than not. He is on maintenance chemo right now but doesn't seem to be handling the fact that he will be on chemo for the rest of his life. How can I encourage him without saying something extremely stupid or insensitive?

Re: September Scans?

My DH has a scan tomorrow, very much so short notice. Praying that the cancer is still at bay. Husband was feeling anxious about it but he was wise enough to realize he has developed an anxiety disorder and is on meds. I, on the other hand, am super nervous about his scan!

This disease doesn't seem to discriminate when it comes to age. My husband was diagnosed at 31. Sorry you have had to join "the club" but this forum will be an awesome resource for you.

Re: DH genetic results back!

His cancer had metastasized to his liver. He has not had any more cancer at the primary site so the doctor did a biopsy on a suspicious spot on his liver. Turned out to be his cancer. That was the sample they used.
