Re: Here we go. Recurrence.

Hi. No problem at all. We are in the UK so it remained the same combination as the first time. Oxalaplatin intravenously. Then capacitabien orally for two weeks. Nothing different except a reduced dose which achieved the same shrinkage as the full dose but the side effects were much reduced. We reas...

Re: Here we go. Recurrence.

Hi, It is so disappointing when you feel you are moving forward. This did happen to my mum. She had six cycles of chemo then a liver resection, then a quick recurrence with a further four mets in the liver. Another six cycles of chemo then a more extensive liver resection and has been treatment free...

Re: OT Fall

Hi. Mmm. Lucky to get one day above 70 degrees in the summer here in Scotland. In fact this year we were rained out, but have just had the most beautiful September. I do still love the changing seasons even if our summers are on the mild side. The up side is fewer wrinkles. The colours of the leaves...

Re: Another stupid question...here goes

Hi. I am not sure if the world health organisation sets the bar on statistical analysis or individual countries. My mum's own liver surgeon publishes his own stats . We are much more conservative over here on surgical criteria but even with that there has progressively been an increase in overall su...

Re: Another stupid question...here goes

Hi Ritz Have a look on the search button there are some good explanations. Its all semantics really. The clinics definition remains the same but in order to collate accurate statistics the staging remains as the op mentioned at the time of diagnosis. However your treatment plan will become that of a...

Re: I'm gonna need folfiri and a pet scan. info please?

Hi. Regarding still hoping for a cure. That still seems within reach to me. My own mum had a quick recurrence after her liver resection. It was so disappointing. Back to chemo and more surgery. The last four years have been treatment free and lots of living. Glad you have had it all surgically remov...

Really sorry to read this. You have just received some good advise. Treatment options are still being offered and that's a big thing. Hope they get a plan for him soon.
Much love,

Re: Another stupid question...here goes

Hi. I think I read here that they are recorded under their original stage but with recurrent included. But I can only imagine that prognostics outlook then becomes the same. However there are some signs of encouragement. My husband was at a study day where one of his colleagues who works with the su...

Hi, Just a thought, but how do you know who the mods are friendly with? I want on the "Mods Mates " list... joke. Seems to me that there is something that works for us all at one level or another or we just would not be here. If your analysis takes you to a different forum, great as long a...

Re: O/T … I hesitate to post this

Hi. I come from a secular society. I know exactly were the line is. When the tone and inference becomes one of intimidation, gross generalisation and personalised rude comments, particularly with one poster being told to get to the corner " doggie" as though she was an animal , then I ques...
