Re: Ah hell - finally got the full scan reports

Sorry about the results. My husband did cycles of folfiri plus avastin alternating with just 5FU and avastin for about 5 years and this kept his lung nodules fairly stable. Hope it can do the same for you. He always had too many lung nodules to allow any surgery or ablation. hang in there, you are a...

Re: Did irinotecan work on lung mets for anyone?

Folfiri plus avastin slowed or stopped the growth of multiple lung mets( over 20) for over four years for my dear husband. Never lost any hair. Nausea controlled by drugs. Didn't stop him from doing anything he wanted. I hope you have the same results. Every cancer is unique and hard to predict how ...

My Beloved Husband is Gone

My beloved husband and best friend left this world last night. I got to spend the whole day by his side talking to him, loving him, and telling him it was ok to go. He went peacefully and quickly. I was so lucky to have him for 27 years and my heart will forever be filled with his love and precious ...

Re: We are near the end of our journey

Thank you Bev. Yes we were married in 2008 during California's first legal window of same sex marriage. We have been a couple for 27 years. My heart is breaking but I want him out of pain. I will cherish forever caring for him.

We are near the end of our journey

I don't post often but have been on this site for almost the entire seven years my husband has been fighting this horrible disease. After two months of home hospice I had to move my sweet husband of 27 years to the hospital. We could not keep him comfortable or deal with nausea/vomiting at home. I a...

Re: Calling hospice tomorrow

Kathleen, So sorry you and Dick are going through this. I don't post much, but have been following your story for many years. My husband is almost 8 years post Dx and has been in hospice care since June 1. He has extensive lung and liver mets. He started getting short of breath around Memorial Day, ...

Beautiful writing Belle...
My husband is in the same shoes as you, ironically, he was also diagnosed same time, right after Thanksgiving 2007. We will look for clinical trials at UCSF, but if nothing, probably back on folfox. Your words are so inspiring. Thank you.

Re: Desperately needing some support from stage 4 friends!!

My husband just "celebrated" his sixth anniversary with stage 4 colon cancer. Surgery is not an option, too many mets in lung, met in pancreas, met on thigh. He has been on chemo for four years, taking breaks, sometimes just maintenance. We keep living, going on vacations, spending time wi...
