Re: Hellooo Neuropathyiiiiiiiiiii

Dear Sophy, Thank you for your reply! It helps, a lot! I don't think it's realistic for me to make the 7 Cycles with full Oxi, when by the end of round two I wasn't even able to walk on my own. That said, I'm going to try at least one more time without reducing the dosage and maybe a fourth time wit...

Re: Hellooo Neuropathyiiiiiiiiiii

Dear TXLiz, Thank you for your kind words. Actually Neuropathy got worse this time round, but everything else seems way better than the first time. I'm managing way better this time around as well. Waiting the next 3 to 4 days out, so that I can back playing with my baby daughter and setting up my a...

Re: Hellooo Neuropathyiiiiiiiiiii

Second round yesterday after a 2-day delay because of low WBC. Different strategy this time, adding some Dibondrin to the mix and a 5 hour drip of Oxi. I still had to come home on a wheelchair because I could not walk the distance to my car. Already obstipated from the nausea meds but I think they a...

Re: This could be LONG ... very long !

CRGuy, I am accompanning every step of your journey and just didn't know what to say. You are so right when you say that being a caregiver is sometimes harder than being the actual patient... I'm so glad that it's me that's on this journey, instead of any of my family members - but in the end of the...

Re: Oxaliplatin side effects

Dear JoG, I had a very scary reaction to oxaliplatin in my first cycle as well. I felt like i was going to die, instant neuropathy, terrible nausea, obstipation, headaches, cold sensitivity, weekness, unable to walk alone, spasms on hand and feet, jaw pain - very similar to your description. And fro...

Re: Is it ok to share good reports while getting chemo treatment

I'm in a very early Phase of my Chemo treatment and I must say, I love hearing good news! It gives me so much hope, to see people getting along with treatment and hearing about those suckers shrinking! I guess I would yell it to the world to hear :D Congratulations by the way!  Ju...

Re: Radiation induced menopause

Dear fellow ladies post radiation therapy, I too have hit menopause with 29. What bothers me the most is the colateral damage in my lady parts... I'm bumping this topic because I can't seem to find an answer to a relatively simple question regarding vaginal rehabilitation after treatment. I will tel...

Re: Surgery prep day!

I was SO nervous before my surgery. But when I woke up I had the biggest smile on my face and was SO relieved! It was the easiest for me until now - but I only realise that now. Take a deep breath... And try to relax. For me, I was dancing all night to Beyonce, Queens and Metallica in the hospital h...

Re: Age 30 (M) Recently Diagnosed, Family History

Dear Sealy, You have already got some pretty good insight in the answers in your post. I just wanted to answer your first answer, as in, if this treatment path would be adequate to your age and situation. I am MSS, but i am a 29 year old with a Rectum Adenocarcinoma Stage IIIb. So I can understand a...

Dear Michelle, I'm sorry that you are going through this. I cannot give my personal experience as a patient, but I can offer you my experience as a nurse who as worked alongside some patients with peritoneal carcinomatosis who had regular abdominal punctures to alleviate the symptoms of ascites. I'v...

Dear all, Thank you so much for your kind words. The last days have been very hard, psychologically and physically speaking, but I'm finally getting better. The two first days were the worse regarding neuropathy. Then it got better, but from day 2 I got this dreaded feeling that my body would fall a...

Re: Hellooo Neuropathyiiiiiiiiiii

I've been lurking in some of our forum posts looking for reasons NOT TO GIVE up on chemo and I found some pretty convincing arguments and studies. Today is day three and I'm feeling better. From the start of this adventure I've been feeling strong but after this couple of days I thought I could not ...
